ATAR maybe like 2 or 3 superiors and the rest either AA/HA

ATAR ik someone who got in with only 1 superior but its rare

ATAR for nhs u can get in with 2 superiors but 4 is an ultimate guarantee a 3 would be 99 percent chance u get in but no averages and 1 superior is very rare to get in

yeah im pretty sure if u get and average ur chances go down very drastically

How many superiors are needed for suzanne cory?

anisha lowest would be 1 but that’s rare but if u want a guarantee then probs 2-3

HI I was wondering what are the minimum scores you need to get into Nossal High School?

hey guys, can everyone pls check out my new discussion page, called SELECTIVE EXAM FORMULAS

im not sure about current stats but for my year (only 4 tests bc no writing):

    • 3 or 4 superiors guarantees top pref
    • 1 or 2 superiors should be enough for schs or nhs (if you're lucky, mhs and macrob), but absolutely does not guarantee

keep in mind that it also depends on the competition from your school

scamran if im doing the test with 9 people from my school do i need to get the top 11 percent of those 9 people to get a superior
      {nice pfp

Ronaldo its 11% of your entire cohort
so even if 20 people sit the test, if their cohort is 100 people, it means that the top 11% is calculated as the top 11 people

im not sure how they calculate superiors though

hey guys i have a quick question, about the 10% rule, do the sehs schools have to take 10% do they take UP TO 10% bc thats what my friends are saying so im confused

also im feeling really stressed and demotivated as we're getting closer to the exam so does anyone have any tips on how to stay motivate and relaxed?

            anisha
the SEHS schools take up to 10%

uhhh don't spend too much time studying for the exam (still revise though !!), make sure you take breaks, meet up with your friends, music really helps me when im stressed

as cringe as the following sounds
you could also try talking to someone (a friend, family member, school counsellor)

anisha Definitely focus on good rest and relaxation! Good sleep is absolutely crucial for these last days towards the test, especially since you'll need to be awake and have energy to actually do the test.
Don't try cramming at all because likely it'll get you nowhere and increase stress
I'd say to leave the last few days before the test just to relax and focus on good rest/motivation of course, do things you enjoy, calm down, and tell yourself it'll be great

I'm doing the exam too so honestly I'm probably as stressed as you are haha 😭
Also remember that if things don't turn out, there's a different opportunity/path, and you should always trust what the world has for you! As long as you've worked hard and put efforts in, it'll all pay off

You've got thisss.. Wishing you the greatest of luck! 🙏

Hi all. If you want to have off-topic chats please take it to a different thread or to direct messages. Additionally, there have been a posts reported for bullying that I've had to delete — remember that online it can be hard to tell what is bullying and what is friendly banter between people who know each other, so even if that's your humour in person, I'd recommend keeping it a bit more relaxed in an online forum.

Best of luck for all selective school exam takers. 🐢

Do you guys have an idea of what could be on the math section, like what type of questions. I am having a hard time trying to figure out what to practice in math. (I am guessing you all did the exam in 2024)

I made Year 9 entry and the only reason I got in was because of my tutor. He’d always give me free extra classes and gave thorough feedback. He also went thru selective as well and got in Melbourne High. His tests were similar to the real exams so I’m sure if u hit him up he’d be happy to help
