Hello, I am wanting to seek advice from people who previously joined Melbourne high via application to join the school in year 10. I am aware it states that they are interested in co-curricular activities, community service/ leadership and academic achievement. Knowing this, I do feel like I have a better chance in making it, since it isn't just reliant on your results on the test they provide, as I've participated in many sports at a high level (division and regional), in and outside school, as well as achieving high level of music, high level of tuition at a young age, participation/ distinction in many academic competitions, also entering the accelerated program in my school during year 7, and being awarded a scholarship (this involved basically the same thing mhs wants). Anyone who has entered or tried for the year 10 application into mhs could help me? Anyways thanks, please respond 🙂

piper_is_op How was your academic test? I'm going to guess even if you did poorly in the exam(hopefully not) you would still get a interview with those stats. Also when do you think interview offers come out?

is it possible to get into year 10 selective school if I start now please I did the test in year 8 and did not make it in and gave up but I had a sudden change and I wanted to get in so any tips or ideas how the test will be different from last year will it be acer or edu and any other help PLEASE HELP ME.

Well right now from what I know, they aren't focused on the test to determine your entry . I think the test is only to make sure you can adjust to their curriculum?? (I definitely read this somewhere, idk where, don't take my words yet)
I do know that they will be short-listing people based on your application, you have to provide summary of co-curricular, academic, and community/leadership achievement, also provide evidence of your achievements. I think you also need to provide something you have done in school (like a project or home work, smth like that), to asses handwriting ability. And also personal response of why you want to go, that might be important. Maybe find someone from Melbourne High and ask what math and english topics they are undergoing (for the test)?

.. The academic test was way easier than last year. The interview will probably within July or early next month? idrk.
