Hello, I am wanting to seek advice from people who previously joined Melbourne high via application to join the school in year 10. I am aware it states that they are interested in co-curricular activities, community service/ leadership and academic achievement. Knowing this, I do feel like I have a better chance in making it, since it isn't just reliant on your results on the test they provide, as I've participated in many sports at a high level (division and regional), in and outside school, as well as achieving high level of music, high level of tuition at a young age, participation/ distinction in many academic competitions, also entering the accelerated program in my school during year 7, and being awarded a $2000 scholarship within my community (this involved basically the same thing mhs wants). Although I do lack some community and leadership experience, I would like to gain the perspective of someone who has entered or tried for the year 10 application into mhs. I would also like to ask if anyone knows if achievements from primary school can be included? Not necessarily things I did IN my primary school, but also things that I did during that time outside of primary school? I also understand that they want 'outstanding' school reports, any idea what kind of range 'outstanding' is, as in if you were year 8 and up to a year 10 level??? Anyways thanks, please respond 🙂
