Hey all!
I'm a JMSS student (Year 12, entered in Year 11).
I know the entrance exams are coming up soon so I thought I'd open up a QnA post!
Please try to be specific as you can in your questions.
I'll do my best to answer all of them but I do have SAC week coming up!

Hi!
Do you know if there are any specific parts of maths that will definitley be in the test?
Also do you any ways numerical reasoning tests can be done more confidently? Any techniques for word puzzels?

Jay Hi what topics will be covered on the exam for math and numerical reasoning? is it mostly yr 9 maths or are there some yr 10 as well?

Jay Also for the writing report, if we are given the method and results according to the 2020 writing test do we still need to include them in the report that we write?

Did you only attempt the JMSS test or did u do the other Selective Tests in years 9-10?

MMHS Only did JMSS, no tutoring, only prep was the edutest online ones, kind of applied for fun

Not that i remember, but p much anything covered in y10/11 depending on what year ur applying for is free game. Dw if you don't get either math finished tho-- I only got halfway through both nr and nk and still got into interview

Can't say exactly but yeah, def stuff from y9 and maybe some y10

noori Didn't do year 10, so not sure. You could probs write "method-- see sheet" or something. up to you ig, just see how much writing space you have

Jay are the questions on the SR test are like you interpreting information from a data, paragraph or like some images and answering them.?

JMSSaspirant it's all mcq! but yeah, basically seeing how well you can extrapolate from giving info

how long do you get for the mcq and how many question are there? is there significant time pressure?

transportbelt I think 30 minutes for 40 questions

transportbelt depends-- each section is 30 minutes
nr: 50 mcq
nk: 60 mcq
sr: 30
sk: 25-30ish?

don't expect to finish nr or nk, I only got halfway thru either
