VCE subjects selection year 10

Hi all,
My school has offered and recommended me to pick up 2 VCE subjects in Year 10 and finish them in year 11. I have chosen to continue doing Latin units 1&2 as 1 of the subjects ( I have been studying it since grade 8 and am good at it). However , I am confused as to which 2nd subject to choose. I do enjoy science and am good at it (97% year 9 average). But am not sure if biology will be too much content heavy to do with Latin ( which is also content heavy) in year 10/11. Another option that I am considering is Legal Studies. However, not sure if legal is also equally hard to do in year 10/11 with Latin and is it that scoring when compared to biology ( which one is easy to get 40 to 45 ). Can someone share their experiences please.
Other 4 subjects that I hope to do in year 12 are English, methods, chemistry and specialist maths/ French.

In my experience legal studies was much easier as once you learn the preliminary content you're essentially just reapplying the same concepts and ideas. I found that I could get top marks with minimal studying and it was a relatively stress-free subject. Biology is fairly content heavy however what you would start in the preliminary course isn't difficult. It really depends on what you want to do e.g legal studies isn't a prerequisite for any courses whereas biology often is.

I do have an inclination to do law, however, I do want to keep other options open too.
I thought doing chemistry would cover all the science stream pre-requisites (plan to do chem in year 12). What is biology a pre requisite for specifically?

Yes, that would be fine, I meant that universities will often recommend doing both biology and chem (depending on the course) for a science-based course but no law degree has legal studies as a prerequisite or recommended. The only subject you really need for law is English. So choosing either bio or legal will leave you with plenty of options and it really depends if you want to do something specific at university e.g if you wanted to do Veterinary Science I would say do both bio and chem.

From what my friends have said, year 11 biology is quite content heavy, but as long as you regularly revise and don't fall behind, it shouldn't be too hard. Also as you said you enjoy and are good at science, I think you should be fine. From what I know I'm quite sure for unimelb and monash their science and biomed courses all require either methods and spesh, or methods and another science, tho for biomed you need chem but not bio, but it is recommended. I'm not too sure about other unis tho. About legal studies, you don't need it to do law, but it wouldn't hurt. From what my friends said legal isn't too hard, but there is quite a bit of reading and writing involved, so it also depends on what you prefer.
