Anu is ranked first of everyone going for Nossal, and he is a boy, so one boy's spot is now occupied.
Leane is the only student going for SCHS, and since she has the highest score among the SCHS aspirers, she is granted a place.
If it came down to the wire, where there was one spot left, and Grace and John were tied, Grace would take the spot. This is due to the fact that one boy's spot at Nossal is already taken, and so therefore, the gender balance would lean to giving Grace the spot, despite their equivalent scores.
