idk why but as an indian, when i see someone else online trying Indian food, correctly pronouncing it and saying how delicious it is it makes me proud somehow

      I need some advice here. anything you can say to me is appreciated. so here it is--
      I live in point cook and I go to a local school. I got an offer at elizabeth Blackburn science school in parkville and I have to tell them my response by friday. it is a 90 min trip (one way) from where I live. so I would be spending 3 hrs travelling everyday..or, I could relocate to parkville altogether. and I want to pursue a career in medicine - neuroscience, to be specific and also, I'm very very very interested in handball(as you can see in my profile) - it means a lot to me. but let me list out the pros and cons of each scenario.
      my options are

      1. stay in point cook and travel 3 hours everyday (potentially getting tired and impacting my studies)
      2. shift to parkville where the rents are crazy high and not affordable. and city life is not preferred at the moment.

      pros of staying in point cook

      1. its easier to stay in a suburb for me as well as family and my whole family doesn't have to relocate again
      2. no need to struggle against the high rents
      3. my brother doesnt have to change his school, he is currently in a good school

      pros of relocating to parkville

      1. i can go to handball too along with studying at blackburn (its a win-win)
      2. blackburn is a science school, and it aligns with my interests. i dont think i even need to explain 🙂

      cons of staying in point cook

      1. 3 hours of travel everyday, which might be a potential waste of time
      2. transportation costs

      cons of relocating to parkville

      1. very very high rents
      2. city life is not very preferred to both me and my family
      3. my brother needs to change schools again. and finding a good school would be a huge problem. we would have to choose where we live based on what the local school is like.

      thats all i have to say. I want to know what you would do if you were in my place? I'm really really confused and any advice would be of great help. if you have any other options/suggestions, i would be grateful to know. thank you so much

        Hi! Congrats on getting in! For rent, try finding places in North Melbourne as it is still only a short walk to get to EBS and the rent is alot cheaper 🙂

          wow that is really a predicament, but the cons of Parkville seem much more personal and degrading over the long run, also 3 hrs of travel might seem like a lot but on the train you can always do work whilst on it, and this is no less tiring than doing study at home if you know what i mean, so reckon you should stay where you currently are because these are all risks that you should be willing to take for the betterment of your future, and taking pt everyday is a great life skill for future work as well

            Oh it also depends on where you want to go to uni as well, if your options are close to Parkville then it might be more convenient for you long term too

            dark_fantasy i personally would go to elizabeth blackburn science school but stay in point cook cuz u can always study on the bus or train. ik travel seems like a waste of time but can be used efficiently - ik this from experience. also your pros of staying in pointcook overweighs parkville
