asianasen for me problem with reading comp is instinct, verbal well vocab, writing is my main struuggle
TIPS FOR 2025 STUDENTS DOOING VICTORIAN SELECTIVE ENTERY
MHS successful candidate writing (for both creative and narrative) revolves around the same prompt
verbal has some venn diagram problems (some mops are dops, etc), some word definition questions (not much at all), it should be the easiest test out of the 6. iirc there should be some questions that are a tweaked version of the venn diagram problems that asks you for contradiction i think
reading has like at least 1 or 2 poems and 3 or 2 short extracts from texts, look at the questions then continue on the text, PLEASE do not read the whole thing, skim the text while also taking in the information given by the texts

asianasen thank u for this! ill surely practice these types of questions
they will give weird and god damn annoying prompts (ill bet 10 bucks on this one) for the writing, as we had cinemas for last years test, js remember to use the teel structure if possible in persuasive, also have 2-3 body paragraphs, 2-3 sentences or even 1 slightly longer one for conclusion. for introduction js do a brief introduction of your points, as for the first sentence, ill give an example
prevailing in society, [subject] is the main factor for [first point, cause], as this has led to [effect] in many areas.
or for the first sentence, you can give an introduction to your topic you are arguing (do not introduce your points in the first sentence at all if you are doing this, then for the 2nd sentence, use the one above if u want)
MHS successful candidate im rly sorry if the given topics are not on the test, I'm js giving you an overview of the English part of the exam on when i did it, if you do it right, writing should not be too hard, js try to complete at least 2 body paragraphs, and if you have time, do the conclusion as it is both vital and simple, js a summary of your points and maybe a call to action (i didnt use this as i thought it was obsolete and not that great in general)
asianasen that is fine if those topics aren't and it wouldnot be ur fault if it deosn't appear. Thanks for the tips!
MHS successful candidate thank you for understanding! all best wishes on the test, hopefully you get into your dream school!

YR10SEHSASPIRANT I wonder why
YR10SEHSASPIRANT mhs is pretty good so far, quite busy, also there is an 11 year old kid in year 9, he's apparently extremely gifted and got all 5 superiors. I've seen him hes legit 4 foot lol.
MMHS lol bro, HOW, 9 years, year 11, my guy be young sheldon. 5 SUPS!!! that is crazy though
MMHS cl its pretty impressive. But I jus have a weird feeling that he won't have a good time, cus like everyone is bigger then him and relates to different stuff(like doing work experience in year 10). Also he's pretty cooked for swimming carnival and athletics cus of the others guys physicality. But other than that I hope the best for him!
yea thats true, but i think he has autism or something, i believe that may have helped
