what happens in pd??

Moonlight_31 it’s really hard to be successful thru pd because they look at everything. I’m pretty sure they look at your skl reports and extra curricular achievements and you have to do a group interview. But to get the interview you need to be successful when writing the application.

you have to write and show to the principal of the school u receive pd from ur assets and what you have over other competitors, in that sense you would have to be extremely high in ranks from something like state level sport or whatever and yeah just selling ur profile to the school, its very competitive, i think around 5% get it

Yeah, rn i’m hoping that i was one rank from getting a round 2 offer into mhs and that i get a round 3 offer, and since i got into schs then i should be getting pd cuz it was my second preference

first round i would say 85% of people were confirmed, meaning there was like 54 more spots to give, then like 40 of those kids accepted so yea

Hmmmm i think that there are like 5 spots left in mhs and then 16 spots for pd and idk how equity works but if it only runs for round one then maybe there’s 2 spots from that leftover after round 2

schs consistently ranks low... but that DOES NOT mean that it is a bad school. schs is faarrr more relaxed than the other schools, so the students here definitely have better mental health than those of other schools. so many opportunities are offered here and youre also given the resources to create opportunities for yourself. try out for everything, even if you think youre not going to get in. i tried for this maths competition, i didnt get in. maths is one of my stronger points. im utterly terrible at english but i still tried out for the interschool debating team and got in. i recently even went to monash to compete. youll never gain opportunities unless you try. this is coming from a current schs student. dont listen to the rubbish people say about schs being an underperforming school. good luck to everyone and i hope this school does a lot of good for you (and vice versa)

perfectvelvet this 100% crosses over to other sehs like everyone trash talks them but that's most likely coz they're jealous others got in and want to degrade their outlook on the school lol i find that funny

ACER12 you have a bunch of programs and days. so in schs, you have a vertical hg structure, so your hg will have a bunch of people from other year levels. the year 9s will have a primus project which is like a teamwork thing to improve team bonding (idk, it didnt help me, but it might help you). you also have two city days (WE DID ROCK CLIMBING. SUPER DUPER FUN) and phillip island camp. the first term is crazy funn and relaxed
