THE PREDICAMENT: JMSS OR SCHS?

I typing this because I'm really confused as to which school to go to, JMSS OR SCHS.
I have already gotten an offer for SCHS year 10 entry but IF(I know big if) I pass my interview for JMSS than I don't know which school to go to.

I want to be a pharmacist so it should be a no-brainer to go JMSS but it's 1.5hrs away and using 1/8 of my day for travelling every school day is not my cup of tea, and SCHS is just 30mins away by public transport. I also want to do sports a lot but JMSS doesn't have those sporting facilities( JMSS only had one basketball court) like SCHS has because you have to use Monash uni sporting facilities which you can't use in recess or lunch.
I want to go to Monash uni, and JMSS like 70% of students there go there, although my sister(a JMSS student) said that going to JMSS doesn't give you an advantage.
My parents said it is inevitable for me to travel for uni, either gain that travelling experience now by going to JMSS for three years, or use that time to do productive work at home(I'm really lazy 💀)
I'm also considering price, because fares have gone up drastically and I don't want that to accumulate and hurt my parents financially as they have other things to worry about.
And lastly I don't want to be considered one of the "new kids" at SCHS because most people there have already blended into the school, and JMSS would be a lot easier to mix with people as the whole cohort is new.
Sorry if I yapped a lot, I just needed to say all the factors I was considering.

.. if i were in ur shoes and u had no option of moving homes or smth i would do schs but if u could move then prob jmss

Presently travelling to a school that is 40km away and losing around 2 hours of the day in travel. It is not easy. What's your sister's take on the travel? She probably will be able to advise! I guess time is essential for VCE, but for Uni it is different, as you would travel only for specific classes which are mostly spread across the day and the routine will vary. Academically both are pretty decent. But with JMSS being a science school, unless you think certain extension subjects as core differentiators, both probably are fine. Always go by your instinct and choose the one that better aligns with your long term goals.

.. firstly, congratulations.. It's an amazing achievement. If I were you, I would choose SCHS, because its financially easier and also gives you a lot of time. I believe all that time would be really useful in your high school years. and about the sports, you could do sports outside of school if you really want it. (also, if you don't mind, what sports do you play?) the "new kids" problem is real, but trust me, you will soon blend in. just be nice to people 🙂

.. depends if u wanna go science related go JMSS but again travel would be a problem, ur choice but JMSS would be more helpful for science and medicine

I would probably choose SCHS. Travel time matters a lot. If you spend a lot of time travelling, you'll have low energy and won't have much motivation to do things which can affect you. Plus Monash will also consider you for SCHS as well. As for mixing among the cohort, give it some time and you'll be alright

i can help with public transport. theyre like 600 bucks for me as a student for a full year pass, and its honestly worth it when ur a student and ur going to school daily (i have the myki that i do half years on but u could also get the travel pass) idk abt other schools but my school deadass gives free travel passes lol
if ur rlly desperate js jump over the barriers or sneak thru others tapping on/off (ive done this b4 n was lucky to not get caught most of the time) plus its not like the officers can run or smt lol

dark_fantasy TY, and to answer your question I play soccer for a club. The thing is if I go to JMSS I can't really do sports outside of school as it would be extremely hard to manage travelling, training, studying and other things which could stress me out and make me fumble school, meaning I would have to quit soccer at my club.

Its a great achievement to have recieved offers from both of these schools in the first place, regardless of the school u choose, you should be proud of your achievement u are the GOAT
