Hello,

I am currently in yr 8 and I want to sit the John Monash test for entry into the school next year (yr 9). Im probably not going for tutoring because I personally don't find it helpful. I just want to know how hard the test is going to be and if anyone has any advice for what to study.
Thx

I did the jmss test this year and lemme tell u this-
Personally I found Maths and NR was very easy , it was basic year 8 and year 9 stuff, I would recommend reading over your year 7,8 and 9 Science textbooks for SR and writing components. I would also recommend u to be fluent in solving the questions and not spending too long on any questions as some of my friends couldn’t complete the exam.

DV78 i'd recommend tutewiz, they are literally so great and i believe they have tons of resources. you have to sit an interview with them tho first cuz they don't want unenthusiastic kids doing jmss with them

are there 2 writing tests for the JMSS exam or 1? cuz I'm getting different infomation from different sources

k29 there 2 seperate writing tests but together they are considered as one, like selective

cshar they aren't tho. When they give you your results they give them as two separate ones.

I promise you, it's a lot easier than you think. I did a LOT of practice exams and tutoring, maybe even too much as the actual exam is just slightly above the level of a regular school exam. Obviously don't get ur ego up too high, but for the best chances, try finding some icas or other practice exams and try to just practice a few questions every day.

            thank u so much!
