din I'm not joking when I say this but one of the questions on the math test for year 10 entry this year was:
the rectangle has an area of 153m2, and a length of 9m. Find the width of the rectangle. But this was one of the easier questions. Your biggest worry is probs time management. Most questions were straight forward in math, and numerical reasoning patterns were easy to recognize.
and were there like parabolas n stuff
are the practice tests on the edutest website similar to the real exam or is it easier
that were similar to the real exam
din uuuuhhhhh... I went to EduKingdom Glennwaverly for a JMSS tutoring course, helped be a bunch in math and numerical. But I think it isn't worth it as you can 100%(more like 95%idk) get good at those subjects with practice tests. Just do like 1-2 practice tests(NOT 3-5) per day and reflect on your answers, take time learning properly on topics you are unfamiliar with, and experiment on how to get the fastest answer for a type of question(for example time, distance, and speed). Also do at least 2 essays a week. And have a general tutor for English, can help you when trying to structure or fish out good words in your writing.
I also had a general tutor for maths but I left her in term 2 to focus on selective.
okayy tysm, so if i get a general tutor for maths and english, and buy practice tests thatll be good right?
din I mean for resources sure... but like getting into a selective school for year 10 entry is like 90% you 10%resources available to you. Also tell your parents it won't be waste for a general math and English tutor as they help wayyy more than just for selective, and can benefit you drastically for a good Atar in the future even if you don't get into selective.
