This year was NOT a good year for me. I got all B's and ONE A. Literally while EVERYONE was getting academic achievements i wasnt getting ANYTHING. My skin has been breaking out. And i have the worst mindset. I heard grade 11 is the worst grade. I dont wanna 💀. So could yall please help me 😥😥🙏🙏

Year 11 is a bit of a rut. VCE is new for a lot of people, so it's a big change in workload and attitudes. A lot of students get competitive too, but try not to get caught up in it. Run your own race, and set your own goals. Year 11 is also a time of working out any hurdles in your study routine, and changing things up before next year. You still have Year 12, and you seem to be eager to improve, which is a good thing

Dr. Jess 😉 Year eleven was one of my favourite years tbh. I finally got to choose classes I enjoyed and a lot of the people who didn't really care either left or switched to VM so i was working in evironments with others that cared a little more.
As someone who's been playing the comparison game my entire academic life, I know it's hard but it's so much better for you to focus on you improving, not where abouts you stand in the class because at the end of the day you won't even know where your cohort stands in the state average and its a geussing game that causes more stress than its worth. Also I think it's really important to note that B's are not bad scores at all and you should still be proud of yourself.
My biggest tips for year eleven is find a good social support group, run your own race and choose classes that you enjoy or want to learn, not classes you pick for an ATAR score because you will do better if you enjoy the study, and also you will not have a fun 2 years if you pick subjects you hate.
Let yourself have some fun with it and find ways to practice self-care, whether its a hobby, routines or just looking after yourself because VCE can be a lot, but it's not neccessarily evil.
Plus you can always reach out for help with friends or here, whether its general life questions or subject-specefic most of us on here are trying to be as helpful as we can.
    Goodluck and you've got this!

Yeah, lol. But still, for those who take their studies very seriously, it's a good year for self-assessment. Figure out what works well, and what doesn't. In Year 11, I found that Maths wasn't my strong suit, so I didn't continue with it in Year 12, and decided to focus on other areas that I enjoyed.
Straight Bs and an A are still strong grades (doesn't mean much from me, considering Unit 4 English was an E+), so you must be doing something right in Year 11. Study over the summer holidays to get ahead, and hold onto materials for revision into next year too

nah year 11 is ass maybe its cos i put way too much pressure on myself but i feel u!!! hopefully year 12 is better lmao!

Leeshi There was definitely still some who didn't care but lucky for me most of the ones who really really didnt care went VM or learned to be quiet in their choice to not do work/learn (still some distractions and stuff but definitely better than junior school)

Dr. Jess 😉 Ah, we're not serious so much as most people have just calmed down disruptive behaviour and actually try to pass I geuss? I'm a public school student and we aren't great score wise but theres a few of us who do our best and the school does what they can to support.
Cohorts can be helpful sometimes but VCE is ultimately about you and what you want to get out of it. No matter what ATAR you get there are multiple paths to get somewhere you can be happy so going into VCE, the advice I wish I started applying sooner was let yourself have fun. I started this year and it was the best choice I ever made, because the memories and friends I've made make it all worth it.
Life is all about finding that balance and if you need someone to reach out to for help at any point in the next couple years there are lots of people here on AN who are happy to do what we can 🙂
