Prompt: image of man about to walk into his home
My ragged palms went in my pockets to reach for the keys that bulged awkwardly in my pockets. A bead of sweat trickled down my neck. I felt as if I was going to regurgitate lunch. Shakily, I unlock the door, but hesitate to open it. I gently press my fingertips onto the doorknob, twisting it with force. There it was. In front of me stood a colossal creature, with inky slime dripping down onto the plush carpet. It reeked of decomposing carcasses and a shiver ran down my spine.
The contemptuous glint in his gaze peering down at me caused me to drop my bag pathetically to the side. I blinked. When my eyes opened, it was mere centimetres away from my face. My sanity was in jeopardy? Could I be hallucinating? Before I could even react, the creature grabbed my neck with its grubby hand and tightened its grip on each passing second. My whole world began rotating clockwise and my vision faded black, following with a thick silence drowning out all the sounds.
A small circle began expanding in my vision field, allowing me to regain my normal vision. A numbing cold spread from the tip of my toes up to my neck. I had realized that I was strapped to a chair with duct tape over my mouth. A generous amount of mud was hurled onto my face, which then slid down onto my hand.
The slippery mud allowed me to untie my arms, and eventually break loose from the chair. My breathing became troubled and my heart was racing. I let out an exasperated sigh but little did I know, the creature was still in the house with me. The floor creaked, footstep sounds becoming louder and louder. The creature was holding a rusted thick metal bat. Its knuckles cracked—one swing and I would be bludgeoned into a bloody mess. Its mouth unhinged. No teeth, no tongue. Just an endless black tunnel. Then it spoke. In my voice.
