@Sine or some mod can you clean up the journal by any chance 😭

considering i caught covid (dramatic sigh), i suppose i should do a mini-update here.

i completed by my timetabling preferences and i will, if i get my preferences, only be on campus for classes 3 days a week. i decided i’d do an 8am class (even though that will mean a 5:30am wake-up) because i’ll have a 4pm class the same day, meaning i can have a study orientated day in between classes… yes i was thinking smarter and not harder.

i also enrolled for peer mentoring for the first semester, meaning i will have a mentor from the arts faculty for 12 weeks. unsure what to expect to be honest, but it opens scholarship opportunities and i might meet some people which is what i am most scared of.

awaiting the orientation schedule to be released, but for the time being, i will be indulging in horror movies to bypass time, and listening to lots and lots of music.

Oh no, sorry to hear about Covid. During my first year, I got covid in the first week of the first semester, so I missed out on a little bit. An 8AM and 4PM class day is an interesting choice, usually, I like to lump all my classes close after each other so I don't lose my pace. But, to each their own. You have plenty of time as a break, rest, study, etc during the day

A mentor sounds like a good idea, especially since many students go into uni not knowing what to expect. Will they be helping you with an Arts subject, or are they just from the Arts sector? In my experience, the first few weeks of a semester are pretty breezy, nothing too intense, usually gets you motivated and prepared for working at uni. Around Week 4 is when all the assignments are started, so you'll have some time to settle in.

Orientation is also very good. Try and get to everything you want to see/do, and you'll even find loads more people
