This guy has done the exam before and is really helpful. He is helpful for the writing part. For the report its better if you follow the prompt. If the method and results are provided then all you have to do is write an introduction ( aim + hypothesis) and then the discussion and conclusion, if it tells you to design an experiment then you have to include everything.

Also in the intro its good to add a background for the experiment, which explains what you are doing with scientific concepts.

      Hey Miggy, The diagnostic tests cover some basic topics that are going to be on the test, but I'm not very sure about the accuracy of the questions.

        lols yeah I 100% understand where you're coming from. At my old school we were taught to write methods in past tense but I'd recommend you should write your method similar to that of instructions e.g. "Transfer the hydrochloric acid solution from the 450ml conical flask to the 200ml measuring cylinder". That's the expectation for VCE and what I'd recommend doing on the entrance exam. Hope that helps clear up any confusionπŸ‘οΈ

            Hey, I've was wondering, what do you actually need to do to apply for the entrance exams? I've been looking online, even on the actual JMSS website, and I can't find any actual instructions.

            hi guys, for anyone who already completed the jmss test, is it worth me memorizing any of the elements of the periodic table for sr, and do you have any tips to get better at analysis and application of science?

              lols idk but i think you should know like first 20 elements for sure

                lols Tbh not really. I didn't. The science test is very different to school tests tho. It really does test your diligence and aptitude, not knowledge. Still you probably want to know some chem, but it is reallllly basic like ionic, covalent and metallic bonding. TO be better at analysis, read science journals and see what they do

                  its not science its scientific reasoning so its more of an ability test rather than and achievement test.
