    Hey! I've been reading a lot of your replies and helpful information to others but was just wondering what ATAR you got in order to still receive an offer to JCU while having it as a pretty low preference. Hopefully you're comfortable sharing this information, if not, all good! 😊

      One main thing to talk about in the rationale is the independent and dependent variables, and how they affect each other. Then you use the equation, and explain the equation itself. For example, does g decrease or increase as the angle increases? What sort of relationship is it e.g. inverse proportional, directly proportional, exponentially increasing etc. How is this shown through the equation. Remember to talk about modifications and how exactly they improve the original experiment. @PhytoPlankton I am more than happy if you shoot tips and everything, I don’t see it as stealing my thunder haha

      I also highly suggest thoroughly understanding the marking criteria

      Hope this helps,

      • Thank you PhytoPlankton and nolongerhuman for the tips, I appreciate it!

        If I want to do engineering next year, how would I prepare for it? Like, how would I study ahead? What textbooks should I borrow? Any other general tips?

        @PhytoPlankton hey dude, also I’m curious as to what you’re studying and where if that’s cool? You don’t have to, as I understand the whole privacy thing haha

        Thanks y’all,

          Howdy!

          I did TKAM in year 10, don’t remember much lol but I remember planning out a few practice essays to TKAM questions and how I would approach them. I’d do at least one from like the top 3-4 themes so I was well rounded before the exam.

          I absolutely agree with everything @PhytoPlankton has said. Just wanna add on, during planning time, I suggest you plan out your paragraphs and have at least 3 quotes at hand that you know you can use to drive your argument. I was taught the PEEL structure for paragraphs, and I can explain if you want me to, just ask!

          • In advance, I’m extremely sorry if I forget your name 😅

            @Billzene
            Mate, thank you so much for helping me on that Chemistry assignment, I couldn’t have got full marks on it with your guidance and advice and I really appreciate you and every single thing you do for the forum, especially in the Chemistry sections, thanks a Bill(zene)ion 😅

            @PhytoPlankton
            Thank you so much for all your QCE advice and everything you’ve helped me with leading up to the external exams. Thanks for also being a fellow QCE forum regular and helping me out with the dumbest questions haha. Thanks a bunch for everything!

            To all y’all 22’ers, especially these dudes:
            @beep_boop @_sophiestudies_ and @God
            Thanks so much for not making me feel alone in this ‘22’er journey! It was really really nice to know that around Aus we’re all going through our own ups downs and all around but you dudes made it so much more bearable!

            Thank you everyone,

            Yeah, we get a formula sheet, but if we don't know how to use the formulas, we're screwed. And the formula sheet is clean and given to us with our exam paper. And it still hasn't changed from what @PhytoPlankton experienced. We can take in a clear plastic water bottle, QCAA-approved calculator and 2B pencils, blue and black pens. No whiteout or rub-out pens.

            It'd be pretty awesome if we did have an A3 page of notes though. But yet again, Queensland is quite new to the whole ATAR situation.
