hello again atarnotes!!

It's me, charmingcloud, here again to shitpost about my uninspiring university life. I had a vce journey journal before here and on the old atarnotes (we don't talk about how I gave up on it halfway through year 12).

~ basic info ~
course: bachelor of science (unimelb)
start year: 2023 semester 1
current subjects:

accelerated maths 1 (mast10008)
physics 1 (phyc10003)
foundations of computing (comp10001)
today's science tomorrow's world (scie10005)

I'm currently really really behind in everything right now, so I started this journal kind of as an accountability thing (but mainly just to complain about everything to the internet). Everything was going decently for the first few weeks of uni, but stuff happened and I statted getting behind and then I never had the energy to catch up and remain up to date. I'm the type of person who has to attend lectures in person to actually pay attention and learn stuff, so I've been really lazy and unmotivated in watching the recordings. I also couldn't just skip the weeks of lectures I missed and just start attending lectures in person again, so I've just been falling more and more behind. I've been able to do all my homework so far with prior knowledge and it's just getting to the point where I actually have to start grinding or fail all my subjects.

The current state of my subjects:
~ maths ~

2 lectures behind
never finished the week 1 tute questions (or any week after that)
4 labs behind
I've probably done 2% of the self study problems
written assignment is due next week but unfortunately I am illiterate and cannot understand the questions
current focus: watch unwatched lectures and then start attending in person again, stop crying about not dropping the subject, try to get 50% on the assignment

~ physics ~

a few weeks behind in lectures (I'm not actually sure how many)
never finished a tute
barely finishing homework questions by googling everything (but it's mostly ok so far)
current focus: catch up in content and start attending lectures in person again, work through tute questions

~ computing ~

I kind of did the first eleven grok worksheets in the first two weeks and then never touched it again
I can count on one hand the number of lectures I have watched
kind of failed the mst due to not touching this subject for a month
have to start doing the grok worksheets again (11 and 12 are due on Monday)
there is also an assignment that I completely forgot about until just then. I have not even looked at it yet, it is due next week I think??
current focus: do grok worksheets, do assignment, start attending lectures (without catching up)

~ useless compulsory science subject ~

I think there's an essay of some sort due next week (???) where you watch a talk and write about it
there is also a group poster project thing, none of my group members are talking or doing anything, I feel like we'll just forget and then rush it a few days before it's due
current focus: do the bare minimum to not fail (submit all work by due date)
