stephqnii bro calculus is yr 11, dont worry. there were definitely questions abt parabolas, but they were really simple. also, im not sure how smart you are, id conider myself decently good at math, and the numerical and math tests were extremely easy on the day. u could probably answer like 50 questions in time on both id say.

That guide is quite accurate. Build a solid foundation in each topic and you’ll be fine. Do a few practice tests - The maths and numerical sections aren’t too difficult. For written tasks, review PRAC and analysis writing strategies. The science section, however, is challenging - you’ll need a strong, detailed understanding across all areas to score well.

Don't prepare for the interview yet - focus on the test and prepare for the interview AFTER the test.

And don't sweat right now - take it easy then focus hard in the last few months. Please try and enjoy your time.

sarvvyy_ id actually contrast that. personally, i think u should start preparing for the interview around 1-2 months BEFORE the exam day. trust me, a ton of doing mocks will make ur confidence really high, also obvously research the school and the things make u rlly want to go there.

maybecoooked Any year 9/10 textbook should be fine lmao. If you do icas for practise (or jso), they often provide theory for problems so that you don't need much prior knowledge, so you can often learn a bit from that as well.

maybecoooked The exam was a lot easier than the selective exam so for this js complete as many practice tests as u can and also work through a yr 9/10 math text book and also make sure to brush up on every concept introduced in year 7 and 8. For science i think read a lot of article and journals whenever u have the time to do so theres not a lot of like extreme scientific knowledge because its mainly about interpreting stuff but still go through ur yr 8 and 9 science textbook do a lot of specifically icas science tests cuz it was pretty similar to it. i personally dont recommend tuition cuz it didnt help me out but if u wld like the extra materials and support then go for it. for the writing parts js abuse chatgpt cuz i hadnt actually ever written a report before the test ask chatgpt for structure, prompts and feedback but the thing is that ur only ever gonna improve if u apply the feedback u get. for the science interest i think it was pretty straightforward theres not much to it still practice it with chatgpt tho. also dont get stressed out if u dont think ur gonna do well. i only knew i was doing the exam like 1 or 1.5 months before the test actually happened 😭 but again make sure u put in the hard work. hope this helps!

maybecoooked personally the interview was more stressful than the exam for me, but for the exam i would recommend just studying the whole year 9 science & maths curriculum, as many of the questions are related to it. cv wise (for interview), just use like a canva template, put achievements, interests etc. (wasn't pinged, just thought i'd help)
