Hi, not sure if anyone cares or if they will read this but I felt like I needed a space to write out how I am going with school from time to time. I am currently in year 10 and have set quite an ambitious combo of VCE subjects for next year, which will be most of my posts. I'm aiming to complete 3 4 of biology which I have advanced into this year, and 1 2 French (I'm terrified, help me please lol ), 1 2 physics, 1 2 Maths methods, 1 2 specialists and 1 2 literature. I know, crazy and I've never heard anyone else with this sort of combo so that makes it more terrifying. However I'm willing to put in the work and if it gets too much, I can drop either French or spec, depending on which one is going better. I've also applied for the Kwong lee Dow young scholars program which I hope to get into, and I believe it would help me with these subjects.

As for this year, I'm currently doing the basic English, methods pathway year 10, French, bio 1 2, chem+physics and legal (Which I hate, alongside my hatred of chem lol). Everyone thinks I'm a tad crazy because I love maths, I don't even know what it is about it that makes it so good, but its my fav by far.

If anyone wants to chat I'm open, I love to hear what other people are doing in their schooling. Until next time,

Hi! I know various people have different opinions on bio but I personally really enjoy it, and its a great subject to do as an advancement because I think it's a subject where what you put in is what you get out. So doing it early gives you more time, effort and mental energy to get better results. I think if you are interested in the subject then go for it, but if u aren't very interested it may become a bit of a drag. Most of my time spent on bio is writing notes from each chapter, making cue cards and doing practice questions. I think it's Been working since so far I've gotten high 90s on each sac.

As for advice, just don't fall behind because once you do it is quite hard to catch up. Other than that I would say to use cue cards if they help you because that is the most helpful form of memorisation I've used, much more effective than rereading notes. I only really have to spend an hour outside of school time each week, to make my cue cards and take some notes but other than that 1 2 is pretty breezy, other than memorising before SACS and exams. I can't say the same for 3 4 though as I've heard it gets more content heavy.

Hi I'm so sorry but I'm still in year 10 and am only advancing into bio 1 2, so I am yet to start methods. So unable to give any advice there, sorry.

Ok so these few weeks have had both highs and lows.
I got back my first Bio sac for Unit 2 and I got a 100!!!!!, which I'm extra happy about because I thought I did really bad.
However the next day I got my maths test back and I did horrendous, the worst I've ever gotten which was a 75, which doesn't seem that bad but I'm usually in the 90s.
Anyways I just completed sac 2 of Unit 2 which I thought went ok but it was very broad and had quite a few vague high mark questions so I might've missed a few points.

I am so nervous because I have made it into top 5 for KLYDS at my school, and now have an interview next week for them to decide the order they will give the uni, for who is best for the program.

Well that's all, just tryna get to the end of the term and then I'm all done for year 10!!

Hi again!!
It's been a while and there is quite a bit to update you on.

I made it into the kwong lee dow young scholars program which I'm over the moon about and cannot wait to start. I was the only one from my school which is a bit scary, but it feels kinda exciting.

I also completed my last 2 bio SACS, and somehow managed 2 100s on those, meaning that for all SACS for Unit 2, I got 100 percent, yaya!!. I had my U2 biology exam a couple days ago and even though I studied so much and knew the content well, the exam was so hard and all the questions felt like tricks. I can't tell if I did good or bad, because I have barely any idea what the correct answers were, especially for mc.

A few weeks ago I had my final maths test(year 10 methods pathway), and I ended up losing 2.5 marks which was a 94, which I'm pretty happy with. At least it's better than the 75 on quadratics. I had the first part of my maths exam this morning and I thought it went really really good, I am usually quite solid with my maths and enjoy it a lot. I have the second part tomorrow with my CAS and am not very worried.

Other than all that, I find out my new subjects for year 11 tomorrow and am very nervous. I really want to get my preferences because I have arranged all my subjects like a puzzle, and everything fits together perfectly. But I guess nothing can be changed for now, and its not too big of a deal if I don't get all of them

Sorry for the long message, just a lot of testing and exams happening currently, but in 4 days it'll all be over!!!!
