Hey guys! Could someone who's done both psych and bio please share their thoughts on which one they think is more content heavy and has more stuff to memorise?
Most Content Heavy? Psych or Bio?
I did bio last yr (the prev sd) and found it quite content heavy, in terms of memorisation and usage of key words and concepts. While psych is also just as content heavy along with key words, if you're able to accurately describe and answer the main points of the question you are most likely to get the mark. Whereas for bio, you have to use key words and rote memorise everything to a T to get marks.
Hope this helps!
I did both Bio and Psych in 2020 and found Bio to be a bit more content-heavy. I found Psych while content-heavy, flowed a lot better and seemed more interconnected than Bio so it didn't feel as tiring.
I didn't do both bio and psych (only did bio) but most people I know who have done both found bio tougher/more time consuming. It was probably my subject with the most content and requirement of including key-words for getting marked correct on questions. Biology used to be a lot more memorisation and has changed slightly to more questions on application but knowing which words to use is still a big component of the exam.

I got a 47 in psych and bio so I guess "equal" performance. I am very confident I memorised more for bio than for psych.
That being said, I think the role of memorisation in both is overstated. Like what ThunderDragon said, finding interconnections is important. Digging into the "why"s (which you can do for both psych and bio) makes it much easier than brute force memorising.
I also echo Sine's comments on application being increasingly a focus
