I'm not sure if there are many die-hard french enthusiasts amongst us, but if there are, what would you recommend as the best study techniques for achieving better marks in a set time period?

For example, is it worth binging hours of youtube to improve listening, or is there a better method?

And what is the best advice for the oral exam?

I didn't get a cracked study score for French (only 38 raw) but here's my 2c. I didn't go out of my way to practice listening, I used speaking to improve it since you need to be able to listen very well before you can give a sensible answer. In terms of the oral, make sure that you have a script written down, but don't stick to it ad verbatim since they can and will ask you things you have no idea about to see how fluent you are when improvising. Always think to yourself in French to improve speaking, since this forces your brain to process words the way native/very fluent speakers do. I used to think to myself entirely in Chinese when I came to Australia, but as time passed and my English became more proficient than my Chinese, I shifted to thinking to myself in English instead.
