While that depends on how competitive people who sat the exam at your school are, you could try comparing it to others you know who did get an offer from your school. Even then, other factors will be involved such as how many offers are distributed in subsequent rounds.

My school isnt that competitive because only 22 people sat the exam and there 340 people in my cohort and there are 12 or so maximum spots, but 5 people got in so 7 are left. But as you said that it depends on the acceptable result and the offers distributed.

I was offered Nossal and PD for Melbourne High, but then suddenly received an offer for mhs.
Hopefully I'll be meeting some of you guys at mhs.

Was genuinely surprised about writing tbh; I didn’t finish my piece and thought I would do pretty bad in it.
For reference, I had all 15 spots at my school filled; my results were

While I didn’t complete any tuition or coaching in preparation for the exam - so I can’t help you in that area - my best advice would be consistent practice under the exam conditions to sharpen your skills in preparation to write fluently.
I completed 1 creative and 1 analytical prompt each week. The most important part of this process is to be actively correcting and setting goals to improve after each attempt. You can do this by consulting a family member, (English) teacher, tutor, or even ATARNotes for feedback.
