I’m doing it too! Though I’m also not sure what to do to prepare seeing as there is very little information given to us by the school. I’m doing AMC-style practice questions and going over some of the contents I studied prior to the select entry exam (from a year 9/ 10 textbook)

It says the exam is on ‘year level appropriate knowledge’ but I’d take that with a grain of salt since that was what they said about the maths and numerical reasoning tests…

Also, pg 15 of the subject handbook goes through what we’re actually going to study/ VCE pathways in accelerated maths: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L_wt1pjF6P2Df7hFCvb31q4aEwaCfdPm/view?usp=drivesdk

Hope that helps!

Do you know where the test is gonna be held cause it didn't say anything about the location on the emails. Is it at Mac Rob? Also is it only the people who got in the first round who can do it or people from later rounds can as well.

I haven’t actually heard back from MGHS since completing my enrolment info, but I hope that they will update us with the test information/ venues around the 28th of October or closer to the exam date.

I’m not totally sure about who gets to apply; they mentioned in the email that the due date for sending in an expression of interest was October 28th so I’m assuming that everyone who received and offer before then gets a chance. That means all of the first three rounds and any PD invitations in that time.

        What did you choose?
I'm not really that interested in any of the subjects... they're all a bit too creative .-.

yess what subjects are you guys thinking of choosing? i’m a bit indecisive but i think i might choose music and visual communication🤔

icantthinkofname yeah, i’m trying out for it but probably won’t really prepare for it that much, just a bit of year 8/9 revision.

user777 I'll probably choose either textiles, baker's delight or virtual communication.

Right now definetely bakers delight and textiles as my first two. I’m a bit indecisive about the rest but I’m considering Art, Engineering and VCD.

I think lots of people are excited about the two food tech electives so probably a better idea to have them higher up on your preferences

They sent out more information about Accelerated Maths yesterday; it’s in the Gym at Macrob.

salma_7052 Yea I saw it, do we need to bring an ID? It didn't say you had to but it would make sense to bring one...
Also do you know if they look at how you did in the entrance math/nr exam when they decide who to put in accelerated maths?

They didn’t say, but I think it would be a good idea to bring one.
Also I’m not sure how the offers were handed out, for me they sent a google form to fill out an expression of interest - whether it was in the email or the info pack I can’t remember.

                Submitted my preferences today:

                1. Baker’s Delight
                2. Textiles
                3. VCD
                4. Engineering
