Hi rumi!
For General Maths (previously 'Further Maths') you could get away with using old editions since there's no new content in the Gen 3&4 course (with the tiny exception of Leslie matrices, but I'm sure your teacher + online resources can help you with that). The main change is that you will study four topics: Data, Recursion/financial maths, Matrices, and Networks. Previously, students had the option of studying Graphs/relations and geometry, but these have been removed, so you can just ignore those chapters! 😃
As for Psych, I definitely think it's worth investing in the new edition. There are quite a few big changes but also lots of pesky little ones (e.g. previously NREM sleep consisted of stages 1-4, but it's now stages 1-3!), and it'd be too much work to go through an outdated textbook while remembering everything that's been added/modified/removed for the current study design. There are also some changes to things like experimental design and scientific investigations that span the whole course, as well as brand new concepts that will be tough to understand without some helpful resources.
Hopefully you can save your money on General Maths books and put it to good use on Psych!
Best of luck this year 😊
