Would appreciate some insight on whether I can achieve a 97 atar with the grades I currently have. I’m in year twelve and am aiming for law however I was mistaken with the atar needed for guaranteed entry. I previously believed it was 91 which seems reasonable with the grades I currently have however having found out it’s 97 now seems a less reasonable option for me.
Last year I completed two 3/4 subjects: psych and further maths. I got 40 for further and 41 for psych and I’m aware both scale down. This year I’m doing English, methods, economics and literature. I’ve completed 4 English sacs, two of which my marks have been released while the others are still being marked. I got high 80’s for the first sac (I think 88 from what I remember) and low 80’s on the second one. However the third sac (argument analysis) my teacher has hinted I might have achieved in the 90’s. My oral is still being marked.
For economics i’ve been averaging high 80’s and have recently completed the third sac but haven’t got the mark back.
Finally, my bottom two Literature and Methods I’m doing fairly poorly at. Literature sacs average mid to low 60’s with one 70% and for methods I’ve gotten two high 50’s and one 65 which is the averaged out score of two application tasks.
Hopefully that all made sense. I’d like some guidance whether it would be possible to achieve a 97 from here. If not other pathways that could help me get into law eventually would be appreciated. For example I was looking at a commerce and law double degree. If I do commerce for one year would it be possible to then change courses to the double degree with an atar still below 97.
Thanks 🙂
