I was reading through Curtin's admissions guide, and I noticed that for the December interview round they take in applicants based on their predicted ATAR from Year 11. Is this true, or can they use Semester 1 Year 12 marks?
Someone please reply because I'm freaking out - my Year 11 marks are really low 🙁 Does that mean I can't get a chance for an interview, possibly?? My predicted for Y11 was around 90.

I heard UWA also takes mid-year 12 marks into consideration so maybe Curtin does too??

thank you for your reply!! that gives me hope. also if i'm eligible for step up bonus (extra 5 points) do they consider that with my predicted atar, or is it my raw atar that counts??

not sure abt that for med.

I thought equity pathways like Broadway and Stepup were only there to lower the requirement instead of being a bonus (just for med specifically)

Like for me I go to a Broadway school and the min ATAR requirement for MD at UWA is 96+ instead of the usual 98+ for everyone else

Also having step-up Curtin is so good since you’ll only be ranked against other step-up curtin school leavers 😩😩

Arcadia omg really?? step up bonus means you get an extra 5 points if you are an eligible school, so i was just wondering whether that counts as my actual atar or if they only look at my raw atar.

hi, im considering doing methods, bio, human bio, chem and english atar as my subjects. How much will specialist help me into getting into med because i can do it

I dont recommend doing it for purely the scaling.

Initially I chose to do spec in yr11 because of this but I learned to love the subject and also spec does not scale at my school which I found out the hard way.

if you hate the subject and only there for the 10% bonus DO NOT do it

Aaliyan i know someone who did only apps for maths and got into med assured pathway. i don't think it depends on the type of maths you take; the websites say that any ATAR maths is desirable. but in the end, do what floats your boat because no one knows yourself better than you do 🙂

im doing app and hoping to get into medicine, but thougt its hard to get a high atar with apps.
