matureagedstudent only the top 1%(more like 0.5%) of the poor do. Its more common for the middle class to upgrade to being rich. But majority of the problem is the lack of financial education brought up in children when they enter adult hood, resulting in them amassing large amounts of debt and simple ideas of how to attain wealth(such as "save up until u have enough"). But thankfully people have begun to learn about how to deal with money properly through the internet, but only some.
