cyl_b heyy is it ok for u to explain how the test was (what concepts came up and if it was hard or anything) and also how the interview and its process went for you? tysmm

on the same page here, still revising stuff for jmss and yr 10 entry exam for nossal, i would recommend going to tuitions such as james an, since they do give similar exam formats and gives writing prompts where it doesn't actually sound ai generated, great practice if you are willing to go.
i would recommend watching jayce batallone's jmss guide video, as writing a checklist on the math and science topics stated (or for the ones you have not touched on yet) would be great.

this is coming from a friend who has done the jmss test last year, he said the science was about applying knowledge, not straight on science questions from what he could remember, and the math was not especially challenging, js work on efficiency and accuracy; do a lot of practice questions and exams, chatgpt may help.

i recommend timing yourself on practice tests / writing prac tests to really allow yourself to work under a timed condition so you can better prepare yourself for when the actual test comes.

i would probably say BBC Bitesized is absolutely amazing for the preparation, as it includes a range of topics that is included in the jmss test

I'm thinking about doing the JMSS test next year but I'm not quite sure since I'm also doing the SEHS test in the same year but are the two tests very different from one another if so can you tell me about the JMSS test.

Guys, doing the test this year, is the test fairly hard or fairly easy. Just want to understand the concepts whether many people struggled or not since I have to get into this school (pressure from home). I am in a SEAL class in Glen Waverly. Does it involve year 10 science. I have been taking notes on yr 8, 9 & 10 science for all science topics. @ Is it like ICAS paper, easier or harder than that? Is the writing component basically a persuasive piece, or a discussion, conclusion or method. Do I have to know many things before hand. Pls help to those who have experience. Because you may not believe me but my life is dependent on this test. pls

matureagedstudent depends on school, private school kids wouldn't really care. But I could somewhat agree with u on some public schools.

StudyKing the test is fairly hard, buts its not that difficult to get an interview. I got an interview last year with 2 sups, 2 above averages, and 1 average.

.. Is the math like extremely hard? Yr 10 level like trig and parabolas and hyperbolas?

          What about writing

sharthecar do you mind js going over in detail (if you want to) about what you had in the test? like what types of questions were in the science and numerical reasoning and math? how hard is it, because I'm scared I'm over-preparing for the test

StudyKing yeh it involves chemical formulas and stuff. I'll be frank I barely remember anything from last years SR test but it was majority year 8 and 9 stuff and a small amount was year 10. I got sup in it but all I really did was do practice tests and read science books.

StudyKing maths was easy. But there were like 1 parabola and 1 trig question, very small amount.
