Thank you for you help
thanks alot
Hi guys,
So, I am a Year 8 student going to sit the Year 9 sehs exam with only a month left until the tests date. I was wondering if anyone who has completed the test in acer format has any tips or any idea of what to expect in the test. I was also wondering if you had any websites or links that help with quantative and maths that help broaden your concepts and well as keep you under pressure (maybe like timed tests)? Also if the 4% rule of the numebr of students to get accepted is applied, and majority of the candidates are boys but you are trying to get into Macrob, is there a better chance with less girls to compete with?
Thanks,
IDON'TGIVEUP
Unfortunately i dont think so simply because many have been practcing for over 1-2 years now
is Hendersons better or James ann for the test, or is self-study the answer.
It depends on what you are struggling with,if it is concepts then I recommend self studying and Hendersons, but if you want to get familiar with the tests and control your timing I would suggest JAC
Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone would mind providing me with a few of their SEHS Examination resources (i am writing the exam this year), and it would mean a lot to me if someone were to help me out in making me get into my dream school. I primarily struggle with creative writing and verbal reasoning, so it would be nice if someone could supply me resources primarily on those 2 modules (however i would be truly grateful if resources for the other tests were given as well ). As i have tried out the resources from multiple blogs from the ATAR Notes discussions, i still feel like i require more unique and distinct resources and preparation in the few remaining days leading up to the exam. Thank you for taking the time to read through my post, and i hope I am not asking for too much from you guys.

Hello!, do you attend a competitive school? Also good ways to improve vocab is by changing passive words to active ones.
MMHS Well I've got around 20 kids applying from my school including me (13 boys and 7 girls give or take), so i guess i have a good chance of making it in, altho i feel like i require more preparation in order to increase the chances of me being offered a place in a seh school (thank you for the verbal tip by the way, it truly means a lot ).
how many in your cohort
20 kids is a lot, i only have 4
keep in mind the pd rule
there needs to be more than 500 kids in your yr 8 cohort to guarantee all kids in your school can get in if they all have good scores.

MMHS Around 60 students, so i'm assuming 6 max will get in (altho it could be 7 bc of equity and pd + they explicitly stated that they'll round the percentage of the number of offers given). If ur wondering how that many students will get in from my skl, it's a P-9 so the 10% acceptance rate kicks in instead of 4%.
MMHS Well, ig it's better than some of my other friends' skls, they have around 300-500 students participating in the sehs exam for yr 9 entry
Make sure that you don't get too overconfident (not in a mean way) about the high acceptance rate because ultimately you will need at least 3 superiors to get in.
MMHS Oh yes that's a rlly good way to think abt it...
