• Year 7-10
  • 2024 Yr 8's hoping to get in a selective school

Ye it does have the seal program but I don’t think I know them personally sorry

Btw any tips for reading comprehension ?

personally ive always been an avid reader so that helped me, but otherwise practice tests should do

Ok thanks πŸ™‚ is it like 35 questions or 50 questions btw

sui The questions aren't necessarily the hard bit, it's the speed at which you answer them. I did the sehs last year and I'm telling you, speed really matters. The content itself is not hard. For maths, just make sure that you're confident in the content you're meant to be learning in year eight eg trig, linear, algebra, measurements etc. NR I would say is pretty hard if you aren't good at solving puzzles, especially in a time restricted test. Make sure to keep practicing by finding puzzles and solving them. The writing tasks are pretty easy, they're just persuasive and narratives. For reading comp, just keep reading books and make sure you can absorb information quickly. For VR it's mainly just general knowledge I would say...
Good luck

@Ommahp hey I was wondering as a year 8 students sitting the nhs exam I was wondering is it prohibited to bring formulas for maths and such

What about the DeRoza education tests( just search the name online and go to sample papers they should be free ) do u guys think they are similar to the actual exam?

No it is not allowed as on the selective school website it says nothing of that sorts it to be brought, not having a formula sheet is what separates those who know their stuff from those who dont

          Miio
I would say they are on par/slightly easier

MMHS alrights thanks because my memory is so bad im currently tutor free i just use websites and practice tests my friends all go to jac but its kind of pricey in my situation

MMHS also apparently to get a superior you need above 90 percent and there are three parts in english that i strongly believe i will get superiors for but my memory on maths is not the best so if jac can help me please recommend it

hello again, I dont recommend going to james an now because a) their mock test already finished and b) there are only 2 more classes for the rest of the year so yeah

How good is your vocabulary, so for instance on the test their might be a question stating, find the odd one out: Outlandish, discerning, flamboyant, eccentric and unorthodox, which one is odd one out

              Ronaldo
ALso, which tests have you been doing online as they may/may not be indicative of your capabilities. As you know, going to a good tutor like jac or hendersons is probably more beneficial than practicing online due to the tutoring services' information they get regarding to students who have completed the test before. Anyways, its good that you're confident but make sure you get practice with even harder topics to maximise chances, and as I said before there is only a short amount of time left before the final exam (20 days). Anyways this was a rant but maybe ask your jac friends on their word on the tests they are doing and try to get some more info.

MMHS thanks uhm i use oztests and de roza education practice exams my vocabulary on a scale of 1 through 10 would scale out to be a solid 9.3 and since the nossal exam is in twenty days could you recommend any practice tests for free
