MMHS yup I actually quite like those questions haha, but numerical reasoning is actually driving me crazy !!

im still quite shocked and confused that the sehs website states clearly that topics on the test wont go beyond 'yr 8 level' and that you don't need to study for the test.

MMHS my mum told me haha. Is it the school u attend now or the one u want to get into

Thanks for this, it really helped! But can you just mind explaining what you mean by 'coming up with a sound idea and refuting it in the rebuttal. Also getting a superior for persuasive and High average for numerical is just a WOW. Yeah, also the exam's sequence in this mock test was quite different and they only gave us one break. Wait, so in the actual test how many breaks are there? because in the official website it is written two breaks, whereas here they only gave us one. Now, coming to the maths. uhh, to be honest i am not really good in maths as you can see from my N.R results. I am alright in it. As for the tips, idk but i think you probably already know most of them but anyways here:-

so my first tip, you would have probably heard a lot would be don't spend too much time on one question and dont let your ego get the better of you. That was what happened to me in N.R I spent too much time on one thing that I missed the chance of completing the things that i would have scored on.

As for understanding the type of questions in that moment. I also face that difficulty because of all the pressure. But the best I can say is sharpen your concepts. This would really help as in this test they would not straight up come and ask you use pythagoras theorem. Instead they would twist the questions and then ask you. So, it is essential that you have all you basic concepts handy.

Third is that read the question carefully. Many times what happens is that you r just running through and you make a mistake in reading the question.

As for managing stress, as you said for persuasive only focus on your sheet and the time, try and resist every urge to look which questions others might be on. This doesn't help you but only increases the chances of you making a silly mistake....

I guess that is it. I bet that you all already knew a lot of those but i just gave you a quick fresh up. I hope this helps!
    and Good Luck to everyone!

Thanks so much! Yeah I agree that i do get hooked up on a question for ages πŸ™. But honestly i could've gotten higher for maths if i had read the questions andunderstood them better because that one on midpoint at the very start was so easy yet my mind was just like 'nope'. I am pretty good at most topics apart from some probability questions that get me super hooked up and madddd. Ok so for persuasive, a rebuttal is where you go AGAINST your point, thus a refute, so for 80% of the rebuttal you are mentioning ideas on why the other POV is better. But, near the end, you also must include why your original idea overrides the one you are writing your rebuttal on. Its kinda hard to explain I think i will copy one of my 18/20 scoring persuasive from class and just the rebuttal bit for you to get a better gauge. Congrats on the sup for math. Not a lot of people would've gotten i sup for math.
