I'm having a hard time grasping knowledge when I sit down to study so I'm looking for better study methods to keep me engaged in what I am doing and prevent distraction
What are the best methods for studying?

Zo <3 keep your phone away, and id suggest installing the forest app on your devices to lock you out of socials on your devices.
also remember that study for each subject is and looks different, and it's solely up to you to decide what works. content memorisation subjects id suggest flashcards + applying it to questions. more application subjects id suggest focusing on questions with scenarios.
as time goes on you will learn what works best (unsure of your year level). if you're in years 11 or 12, maybe talk to your teachers because they can get straight to the point with techniques
Some study techniques:
- pomodoro method - set a timer and study in chunks.
- gameify it - try making games of your content e.g. cue cards to leave vocab and test yourself to see how fast you can define new words. If it’s fun, you’ll be studying without realising it.
- memorisation techniques e.g. method of loci, mnemonics, acronyms - makes it interesting for you and will help you to recall content
- exercise/ stretch for a few mins before getting into it and reward yourself for studying.
