So i'm doing subject selection currently and I need an idea on what subjects to pick. I'm really good at math and sciences and I want to either get into Monash direct entry into medicine or any other engineering courses. Now I know they are different pathways but I'm interested in both of those fields. I wanted to pick Biology, but I got a C+ for my semester exam and I got really discouraged. My math teacher also recommended I do General 3/4 for year 11 since she thinks I would do really well in the subject. As of now I'm thinking of doing English Languages, Chemistry, Physics, Math Methods, Specialist Math and General 3/4 for year 11. If you guys have any suggestions or tips on this topic please let me know.
What Subjects do I pick for year 11?(I'm seriously panicking)
Kris hi! firstly, please dont be discouraged by a bad grade on your bio exam. vce is all about correction and perfection of errors. and if biology 1/2 doesn’t work out, then don’t pick it up in year 12- year 11 is all about determining what you enjoy and what you’re good at. have a look at the study designs for the subjects and see what you’re interested in based off what’s outlined in the curriculum.
i also agree with your teacher, 3/4 general is good to get out of the way, and i’m guessing you’re a math wizard based on those subject selections. it never hurts to have 6 subjects, or if things might not work out in year 12, you can drop a subject and still have 5 subjects on your atar
one last piece of advice: pick what you have an interest in learning. vce is dull, learning something you’re interested in can make it less dull
Thank you for your advice, that cleared up my mind. Also, I'm aiming for a 99 and above atar. What do you guys think I could do in these subjects and in my daily life to achieve this goal.

Just keep in mind that if you pick all three math, only a maximum of 2 can be in your primary 4 (either gm, methods or spec will be forced to only contribute 10%).
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure VCE Biology is highly advisable (not a pre-req for most unis) for students who are applying for medical courses. Imo you should do 3/4 Methods for year 11, then your other subjects can be englang, chem, physics, spec, bio
I want suggestion if someone doesn't want to take chem what effects he has to face in future, in uni

Well, if you're going into med or biomed, chem is often a prereq, i'm quite sure it is at melb and monash, so that could be a problem, im not sure but sometimes they have bridging courses, so that could be an option.
