Random_Person_You_Happen_To_Be_Encountering_Now macrob is cool, js a lil too far for me, nossal is the closest, being a 20 min drive, the rest are like 40 mins+ (excluding jmss, that's like a 15 min)
DV78 it was fine, nothing much happened bc first few days of school
it was pretty chill
ive heard from a few friends (and people from this website) that the first days of the sehs is pretty boring, like what did yall do in the classes
also kinda curious if they follow the same teaching curriculum for private and public schools (since the vcaa learning curriculum is available online), so what did yall do for the first day, and can you follow me up if possible? js curious abt the school life of a sehs student
Dosanjh (NHS) bro take a joke
chxin I know it's a joke, I even put a laughing emoji
asianasen My first day of school(only for new students) we did some activities and had some assemblies. We did a build a bridge competition and scavenger hunt(fun but absolute chaos). The second and third day of school for year 10's is just working on our secundus project so no actual classes, I think year 9's have city program. Then on fourth day we have swimming carnival(I'm cooked I have zero stamina). AND FINALLY on the fifth day I have my first class which is Hums.
.. Same at Blackburn we have a swimming carnival next Friday.
first day of school normally is the most exciting day, since you get to meet your friends, and second day gets kinda dry..
all my friends went to haileybury, caufield or any of the sehs schools, outta the original 8 member fg, im the only person left; im literally not excited for school at all, i gotta find new ppl to hang out with
asianasen i'm in schs we started on yesterday (thurs 30/1) and yesterday we basically just had an assembly in the morning to tell us about what's going on etc, then we got settled into homegroups. homegroups is like smaller groups in your house, with a few year 9s,10s,11s and 12s in each homegroup. we got shown our lockers anyways after that we had recess. then we did a small activity - building a bridge that can support the most weight with only plastic straws. my team came like 2nd in our house lol (btw the school is very house-oriented; you don't really socialise much with the other houses unless its part of a house competition lol) after that was lunch, where we just roamed around. the school is BIG. i mean big. i literally thought we were in like a park when i went outside. thats how big it is. lol. then after we did a scavenger hunt where we had to complete like tasks. eg. take a selfie with the prof who the school was named after - you had to find a portrait of suzanne cory which was near the front office and take a selfie. then upload to a doc with a creative caption. after that, we had an ANOTHER assembly, where they just talked about a project called PRIMUS that we're gonna do next week (help its being assessed
)
anyhow, TODAY, we had sports day, so we went to the westgate sports centre where we were split into 4 teams within our house (mainly based on homegroup lol). we had 6 rotations of 8 possible activities - incl. basketball netball dodgeball futsal handball inflatables trampolines cricket. i got to do everything except dodgeball and basketball. it was mostly fun but the guys dominated the whole game lol so that was a bit sad. my favourite was the inflatables and trampolines lol anyways yeah. we had lunch breaks in between every 2 rotations and yeah. then we came back to school at like 3 and we had a short assembly just explaining the next few days.
so yeah. that's basically an overview of our first two days lol.
(sorry for the long essay haha)
