Melbourne High School Year 10 Entry Interview
melonman205 There is also a group interview ?!
lemj87 Congratulations on getting an interview at MHS, for tips I would recommend practicing public speaking and creating a list of your achievements and what makes you special and also you should tell them how you can fit in into their school programs and culture that way they will feel like you truly belong at MHS
Wait a minute this is a year ago, He's probably dead
Dosanjh (NHS) omg thank u for letting me know i didnt look at the date. but do u know tho?

Dosanjh (NHS) wait what year are u in in 2026? I wanna get in into Macrob but I want more info about the process of year 10 entry? Do u know any of ur friends from Macrob that took the year 10 entry? No one that I know take the year 10 one, even from atarnotes.
Well I am starting High school soon and I don't have friends who took the year 10 entry because most of my friends are my age but I'm not really in the same school as most of them so I don't know, but I do know the whole process.
trinh I'll be year 8 in 2026
trinh What are your preferences first of all.
Secondly because this isn't year 9 entry most of the spots at Mac. Rob are occupied meaning getting an offer at that school will be very tough however you can get into Nossal or Suzzanne Cory but from my knowledge very few people who have taken the year 10 entry have actually received an offer at Mac. Rob or MHS
Btw this test will have the Edu Test format not ACER.
Dosanjh (NHS) Nossal is hardest to get into year 10 entry, then macrob. Mhs always has a full class of students available to get into year 10 entry(25 spots I think), same with Suzanne cory. The reason MGHS and NHS are the hardest is because they rely on vacancies from year 9 students wanting to leave, meaning you have to be like top 20(out of hundreds of applicants which is insane, like 4 sups minimum) to get into a waiting list and depending on your ranking and how many students leave you can receive an offer. Though MHS and SCHS are still quite difficult, most people have already got no chance to get into those schools if they haven't built up their extra curriculars from previous years, MHS likes sports and SCHS prefers the arts, but they both seek all rounders of excellence.
Dosanjh (NHS) Also u don't have designated preferences Edutest asks you to fill out, each person has a equal chance to get into a selective school in year 10 entry regardless of how many they apply to.
oh ok thx
matureagedstudent MHS is really good and most people study to get into MHS rather than Scotch in fact last year a guy in my tuition was going to Scotch college yet he wasn't smart.
And in MHS you actually work for something not just pay a school fee for entry.
matureagedstudent Not true at all even rich kids go to public schools
