ceraphine GOOD JOBBB
YR10SEHSASPIRANT THANK YOUUUU
HIIII EXCIITTTINGGG UPDATEEEEE!!
we got our ext 1 marks back and i got an A+ (over 90%)!!! ive been asking around (ext 1 only has one class in our school) and i think i might've gotten 1st!! honestly im so shocked, my heart was beating really hard when the papers were handed back and in my previous posts i was literally hoping for at least a B, i'm so grateful for my mark and glad the effort paid off!!
studying for that exam (comparative essay) was really difficult since i had lots of family events going on, so i had to cram everything in within the week it was happening. that being said, i enjoyed researching it and am super happy!!
anyways, just wanted to let you guys know the news! bye bye
ceraphine WELL DONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
HI silly math update:
im like 90% sure now that i wanna drop to standard math like seeing how the content we are learning now will only get harder next year makes me want to cry!! its doable now (barely) but i think the relief i would get being able to not stress about it so much by dropping down would be so fulfilling.
its just kind of disappointing personally though because it feels like im taking the easy route out? i kind of am though, but i genuinely do not have the passion to study rigorously for content this tricky and would rather spend time on other subjects.
also the difference between maths advanced content and standard content goes CRAZY but ill take linear equations over calculus any day! i think by doing easier content i would feel more motivated to study for it since im getting the marks i want!!
bye bye for nowww
ceraphine me reading this in math class
hi everyone!! its less than 2 weeks till prelims and ive barely revised!!! but here's my progress so far:
im also thinking of getting a priv tutor for math if i keep it for next year! anyways, see u guys!
hi guys!!! first week of prelims is over!! here's how everything went for the exams I've had so far!:
the exam wasn't that bad! (i think), thankfully, my teacher didn't put like 90% of mod 4 which i revised at the very end, and i had like 20min left at the end to revise all my answers! hoping for at least a 65%!!
korean beg: so far, we've only done the speaking exam! it was just a conversation with the teacher, and it wasn't too bad. stuttered a bit but should be fine!
maths adv: i got my form to drop down to standard right after the exam LOL it was horrible, most likely going to get the same as last term (in the 50% range), and decided to accept my fate in the 40 mins i had left over in the exam. most of the hard word questions were left blank, i was really sad i couldn't even attempt them, but i genuinely just didn't know what to do. could only really do the basics.
eng adv: my presentation went okay! had a few technical issues and stutters but overall i would say it was not too shabby. i wanted to memorise it but i passed out after my bio exam and had to cut out my palm cards the morning OF the presentation.
eng ext, visual arts, and my korean paper are next week!! good luck for anyone else doing their prelims/have an assessment going on at this time!!
(posting this again bcus it said it got deleted?? but not sure if u guys still saw it)
hi everyone!! forgot to update my 2nd week of prelims lol so ill let u guys know now. also we already got some marks back! its the last week of the term right now (and yr 11). next term is my first term of yr 12!! nerve-wrackinggggg
2nd week of prelims:
eng ext: guess what!!! i also procrastinated this LOL. i managed to make my visual aide quicker this time around but getting my transcript done + shortened was so stressful. im begging i dont let this happen again next term. my presentation was okay though! a few stutters again but everyone else was also nervous.
visual arts: theory exam!! i memorised my essay for section 2 so that was pretty easy. section 1 tho (where u have to analyse unseen artworks) was a bit tricky though and i feel like i didnt write enough (was also slightly low on time). overall i think my essay will carry me (hopefully). art theory is way easier to study than my other subjects so im considering keeping the subject!! the art prac is also very free range and could be something therapeutic for me to do.
korean beg: pretty good!! listening was the hardest bit but the rest was okay! im being so serious when i say everyone in our class (small class) finished w 30 mins remaining -- we were all just sitting in the exam room either sleeping or staring at the clock LOL.
now for the marks that we have gotten back so far! everything else will be given in the next term after the two week break:
biology: OUR COHORT DID SO BADDD our cohort average was a failing grade when i first heard abt it i was SO ANXIOUS because i thought the exam went okay and i was really looking forward to a nice mark, but thought i should accept my fate of failing. turns out i got 2nd for the exam mark!!! i was super happy and relieved, and very glad my 10h grind till 5am pulled through (wont be doing again tho lol)
korean beg: DID WELL got 93%!! missed out on marks for the listening part of the exam but i knew it was a given.
maths adv: guess what, i was in the 50% range like i expected!! i got 59%, which for my class was actually good (considering my class avg was 35%) but i knew i wasnt gonna just tolerate a barely passing grade for my hsc. i already dropped down to standard but i havent had an actual lesson yet!! im so relieved now that im able to do easier content and spend more time on other subjects!! ))) if u r ever considering dropping JUST DO IT!!!!!!! (if youve been failing/getting Cs)
eng ext: got 95%!! super happy and wasn't expecting it, i put a lot of effort in (the night bfr lol) so im glad it paid off!!
that's all we have so far!! now im only really anticipating english marks, i have no idea how the teachers found my presentation and hope i get an A for advanced at least!!
congrats for anyone who graduated this week!!!
edit: im also trying to apply for ext 2 english!! i have my eye on the critical response, but have no idea what i would write abt. i feel like its similar to the society and culture pip but a bit more rewarding in terms of scaling!! i wanted to do sac so i feel like if i find something interesting ill try my best and put my all into it!!
