so just for context, i made the mistake of thinking my tutoring centre would have questions on each of their tests that were exactly the same as the test, and I got mad because they weren't really like it (60% not like it), but I've come to realise that no place can give you the exact preparation needed, they just cover each and every topic, so it is also up to you to research online for practice papers. Hendersons and james an are great for english, james is good for maths but extends people too much when its not needed, apparently hendersons is rlly good for all but is extremely expensive.
when to start tuition for yr 10 entry sehs
yeah, you're right but the thing is i alr tried researching practice papers for this yrs exam and it didn't work out cuz whatever i practiced didnt come up on the exam, so should I start a private tutor and js buy prac tests for home and ask questions to the provate tutor, cuz i dont want to make the same mistake again.
idk never gone with a priv tutor
MMHS fr? I started with a private then moved to a place called st vincents
yep i literally started my prep on the 1st of march this year
went straight to james an
i started early year 6 and started preparing intensively start of this yr
yea
MMHS i swear james an is not accurate and they still have so many ppl get in
well i guess some of the best advice for future students:
- Don't be pessimistic, me and others made this mistake when having a positive outlook increases hope and relieves the mind, this is a very hard thing to do tho
- Don't worry if your friends have had way more time to study than u, one of my friends did tt6 and tt8 so like almost 3 years experience and didn't get in, while i manages to get in with like 3 months because I used my materials well and used them over and over.
- I heard people saying to read books but honestly this didn't really help in the 3 months i had so I just bought a vocab book
- Don't piss around in your tutoring, you may regret it
- Ask for help
- Watch Arnav Kadian bc he legit saved me from pessimism at rock bottom lol
YR10SEHSASPIRANT nah james an is good for english and some parts of maths, they extend you a lot which is good but also bad, overall rate them a 7-8/10
henderson is good but pricing is horrendous
MMHS lol fr i was studying words in a dictionary
yea
MMHS yeah niceee
MMHS depends how commited you are
but still lol, you can get pretty much just as good at hendersons as james an, james an is probs better with eng but hendersons maths, but paying 1000 extra lol
do yous know how to improve writing, like make it deep instead of shallow, i wna start improving myself cuz i cant get a priv tutor rn cuz of stuff. any tips woulb be appreciated. ty
