i’ve been studying for the test already but there’s a lot going on at school and idk if i can balance it and my tests at school because i can’t just give up on them, i don’t have guaranteed entry or smth

a📀 if u think it is better for u, than js do the exam, i think it is worth trying though so definetly atleast try.

a📀 do u have time to study at home?? if so how long?????? maybe spend like 2 hrs studying for school and then 2 hrs studying for school tests and vice versa.

MHS potential candidate not really tbh normal school day i get home at about 5 so there’s enough time for 4 hrs studying but i have 3 days when i get home at like 7:30 so there’s no time😭

a📀 i think you should do it if its better for you academically and socially. and you shouldnt be worried about making new friends as a lot of the cohort share common interests and heritage. personally at the bare minimum i would try, it doesnt hurt

a📀 WAIT IS IT GAOKOA !!!!!! 😢 oh wait... sorry mb hong kong is a different country. BUT STILL THAT'S REALLY HARD. I mean currently your schooling life sounds great but in the end it might fall poorly(not saying you aren't smart enough its just the stress might get to you). coming to Australia might be a good choice but there are a lot of adjustments to make, its good tho that you already know where to live and speak fluent english. idk about the getting friends part, maybe ask @i_need_mental_asylum or @Random_Person_You_Happen_To_Be_Encountering_Now for advice? They both go macrob this year.

hi guys, does anyone know about how many people from one school can get into a selective school? around 65% of the people in my grade are applying for macrobertson.

MHS potential candidate so only (maximum) 4% of the whole year 8 cohort will be able to get in

if there are 200 people, only a maximum of 8 people are able to enter a sehs (if not p-12), the p-12 schools have a higher percentage i kinda forgot how much was it

            • .. replied to this.

asianasen you mean p-9? not p-12. P-9 school have 10%.

.. true because the stress students get from studying for hkdse is no joke 😭😭

a📀 This is just my personal experience since I moved from the Indonesian to the Australian Curriculum in G4, I originally moved to Hurstville PS and I have to say that the culture and vibes from people here is wayyyy different from a typical school in indonesia. Usually kids in AU are more loud and extroverted so if you are a social person its much easier to find new friends 😁. I'm not sure if this applies to you too but the materials were much much easier in AU since I had learnt the same material from a year before so don't worry about not being able to catch up.

Alp🏔️ This is just my experience though plus I eventually moved back to Indonesia 😅 So just research more about Australian school life and you should be fine and give the test a go, even if you decide you don't want to go it won't affect anything 👌
