velvet's work experience debrief; day #1!
today, i:
- visited a local school
- visited the federal mp's office
- did a debrief on some bills currently in parliament for the minister
- prepared a media report for the minister
- handled some statistics work in relation to the electorate
overall, it was a great start! i was admittedly drained by the end because it was a lot of mundane office work,,,typing, taking notes, copy pasting. hey, at least i'm an excel expert now!
but the people in my office are honestly the best. the MP even bought coffee for me which is amazing. he's such a great guy.
after today, i've gained a lot more respect for political staffers. their work is so hard! but for some reason, it gives me a lot of energy. because its a small team, working with everyone just feels like being with your friends. they're all not that much older than me (3-4 yrs) so we were on the same wavelength yknow??
overall, 8.5/10. it was so draining but worth it. better than what i'd be doing at school anyway.
