I will just give some tips on all of the five tests:

RC - It was surprisingly easy this year as there were only about 1/ 1 and a half pages of material followed by 5-10 questions. Try to read the questions first before reading the text: this helps you read with a sense of purpose and saves time!
Maths - If maths is harder than English for you (like me), I suggest you do a LOT of practice. Revise the Yr 8 curriculum/crucial concepts and also the material for two years ahead! (For this year it was not really required, as it contained Yr 8 content only).
VR - Practice analogies, expose yourself to a broad range of words, and basically everything that includes puzzles with words. This was also reasonably easy this year.
NR - This was definitely the hardest for me. Master number sequences and relationships, ratio, proportion and rates, spatial reasoning etc. Know which ones to skip and do not spend long figuring out how to solve a question.
Writing (creative) - Do not think of a complex plot as this is very much time consuming and leaves you with insufficient time to finish your story. A basic plot is enough - the techniques and your style of writing is what makes it stand out.
Writing (persuasive) - Sharpen up your writing techniques (for instance rhetorical questions) and use as many as you can (for both writing pieces.) Make sure you are familiar with the structure of the writing piece. Also, it is very important to PLAN for 1-2 mins before writing the actual essay. This allows you to continuously write and finish on time. Lastly, practicing enough is essential to excel in this area (and everywhere else too!)

I can't recall much now, it has already been 6 months 😅. But consider practicing areas in trigonometry (e.g pythagoras), angles, arithmetic (expanding brackets etc), linear equations, simultaneous equations, and algebra. You can also find practice tests online to get an idea of what topics to study, if this doesn't help.

NSN When grading scores like superior and above average are emailed to you, is writing marked in two categories of persuasive and creative or as a whole section of writing.

Hey guys, I was just wondering how many questions out of 60 should you aim for to get a superior.

Good luck to anyone sitting the exam this year!

Hello, I am going to sit in the test for Year 10 entry too. Would anyone be able to share the past exam materials here? Thanks.

          Hi guys,

So, I am a Year 8 student going to sit the Year 9 sehs exam with only a month left until the tests date. I was wondering if anyone who has completed the test in acer format has any tips or any idea of what to expect in the test. I was also wondering if you had any websites or links that help with quantative and maths that help broaden your concepts and well as keep you under pressure (maybe like timed tests)? Also if the 4% rule of the numebr of students to get accepted is applied, and majority of the candidates are boys but you are trying to get into Macrob, is there a better chance with less girls to compete with?pls respond asap cause im deperrate

          Thanks,

This year only the verbal test is out of 60, maths is out of 35 and so is reading, numerical is 50. So out of 60, aim to get 45-50 out of 60 to ensure the best results, usually 85% or above is a superior. Though, I can't quite prognosticate or see into the future what the cohort of year 8 students will get. Just remember you have to be n the top 11% of students so if there was 4000 kids sitting the exam which there usually are, then 440 students would get superiors.

Even though I am sitting the yr 9 test this year, I know that past papers are illegal to spread over the internet because some reason idk, but u should do some research yourself into helpful websites as there are many to suite your likings. Also, be aware that when doing my research i didn't find too many yr 10 practices but maybe that was because i was in the wrong section, idk. Anyways, look hard and hope u get in!
