g4rl1cg1rl it sounds like you are in the exhaustion stage of the general adaptation syndrome (i’m joking please don’t virtually kill me). i really hope you feel better — it’s so hard to feel good when there’s so much stress.

what novel/ text are you studying for english?

g4rl1cg1rl Year 12 can definitely be pretty awful, I'm sure you've got this for your SAC, can I ask what's got you so stressed? (no pressure if you don't want to share)
Hopefully after tommorow your stress dies down a little and maybe year 12 can start to suck a little less

g4rl1cg1rl HEY LET THE EI SLAY AWAY BECAUSE EI DOESN'T USUALLY SLAY T-T. what is your framework topic for creating texts?

g4rl1cg1rl OMG SAME. after seeing the other topics i am super relieved that i got protest too.

How does doing Extended Investigation feel like?

Chibby short answer. hell. nah it isn’t too bad — it is extraordinarily tedious when it comes to reading academic papers, but as we get to choose a topic of our interest, it is easy to stay engaged.

g4rl1cg1rl OMG how is EI going? had a breakdown last night after my pilot study flopped and had to redo all the interview questions T-T

    g4rl1cg1rl I'm disappointed 😍. I got an 80

THIS is the most realest thing of all time. im really sorry for the horrific score… hopefully you can get above an A next time T-T.

so i’d assume you’re doing a literature review now? i regret wanting to do interviews despite them being the most useful form of data collection for my research, because i HATE talking to people lmao. and i love how we are so different in EI… i dread doing the work and sort of flopping, but my grades are considering “high-ish” which is surprising. but i agree, academic writing is so appealing for nothing.

g4rl1cg1rl IT IS EXACTLY THIS. i never knew about ches until i read about you doing it, and I WAS DEVASTATED. i feel as if i don’t reach my full potential because it requires so much more than what is being offered. a lot of the weekly tasks, if done properly, do help with the overall product, but most of the time it is just the bare minimum and that’s what i’ve come to doing.

i just do what is urgent. like this week we got our SAC2 to work on for the weeks duration and i’m just researching when we need to. i feel like they expect us to KNOW what we have to do but half of the time there is no clear sense of direction.

and even with data collection, i’ve looked ahead on their “timeline” and they want us to have it done by the end of term. THAT IS CRAZY. i want to finish data collection, data analysis and begin writing some stuff up for the final report. it feels really restrictive and i hate that as a learner, especially when i want to do so well in EI because i fought so hard with my school to do it.

like please, the whole “theme” on the page where all our work is is literally lego themed. it’s a motif, i understand, but it feels so insulting because the subject is full of intelligent people and you’re undermining that with lego.

sorry thanks for attending my ted talk, i really despise the whole situation right now. and i love talking, so sorry for all these words…

im just curious though, where are you at with your research? like methodology/writing wise because there’s really no timeline i have and want to have something to compare with.

g4rl1cg1rl YEAH HAHAHA im using my own timeline because that ensures im working to myself, but that dude who got a 50 must be extremely smart and didn’t rely on vsv themselves.

and yeah, i do use state library but i also use scholar and sci-hub in case i need to download anything behind a paywall.

when were you thinking about starting to write your report? i was hoping to start mine mid-june right after i collate everything T-T

g4rl1cg1rl OH that is a little late for me… my anxiety would go crazy. i hope you know it is due around early/mid september, I AM FREAKING OUT FOR YOU NOW BECAUSE MID AUGUST IS CRAZY LMAOO.

and yes, i use both of those databases with the membership. i have a google scholar bias because i’m stupid with technology and really have slv T-T

g4rl1cg1rl LMAOAOA you have my best wishes— maybe uhm start that report a little earlier then HAHAAHA. speaking of writing, i should get of here and reddit and write up my SAC2. 4 days to go, 47 out of 1000 words T-T

OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!! i actually gotta reach the word count first hopefully i can send it tomorrow omg i really appreciate it 🙂

g4rl1cg1rl i would assume your school allows for sac rescheduling. just get a medical certificate and get the sac’s postponed you shouldn’t have to go to school if you’re not well.

g4rl1cg1rl I'm glad you were able to get an appointment, even if it wasn't with your normal doctor and are you okay? Losing your voice sounds kinda extreme.
    Hope you're feeling better soon

g4rl1cg1rl Congrats on the economics score and good luck for your next one!
Well done on also making your way out of the English SAC's and I'm sure you've done great!
