I went dress shopping with @soupsthetic at Melbourne DFO this weekend to buy a dress for my graduation dinner. Today is my second last day of school (and my last hospitality class) and it doesn't feel real and I have a horrible feeling I will be excessively crying in front of everyone the next few days.
I get to wear one of my cosplays to school for our celebration day which is fun tho (my friends are doing matching costumes but like I don't have the time to put together something new plus if I have cosplays there i have spent hundreds on I should use them yaknow?)
ANyways hope everyone is going well and to all my fellow year 12's, I hope you're doing okay in this last little stretch before exams 🙂
It's a stressful time so if you need /want someone to rant or talk to I'm on here almost too much plus you can use the AN messaging function if you just want someone to talk to.
Happy Monday!

It's my last day of classes today, I will never do an English or hospitality class (still have psych and business after when I am updating) and goddamn its all coming too soon. There will be lots of tears from me in the near future I suspect (have already cried a couple times lol)

tears are completely normal… life as we know it is about to change. i think it’s important to use the time though to reflect on the last 6 years, and look forward to what lies ahead.
hope the grad dinner goes well too!! soak it in, and live in the moment, and make the most of it all. we are almost there!!

FH Thankyou! Tommorow I'm probs gonna be a mess cause its our actual ceremony and stuff + our dress up but at least I get to dressup as a genshin character lol. It feels like so much has changed since year seven, I mean we went through a damn pandemic and everything. Terrifying to think about what comes next

Saying goodbye to it all is hard. Be sure to thank all your teachers, and keep in contact with friends over the exam and post-school period. Crying is normal, especially because it feels like it comes at you so quickly

University is an amazing time. You all have so much to look forward to. The independence, the lecturers, the subjects. The workload is bigger, but you have more time and ease to get everything done. A 1500 word essay becomes nothing after a while.

Won't be long until you'll all be on campus

Update: sobbed like a frigging baby multiple times yesterday, cosplaying was fun, danced with friends, the school gave us some gifts, dinner was pretty good and now I'm back at school today to study lol (not highly motivated atm but I've turned up and have stuff in front of me which is a start). I also got back my letter I wrote to myself at the start of year 12 camp and that made me cry. And the graduation had a video montage using an ai song a teacher made about my cochort and it was so funny but god I cried so hard.

There's also so much to be happy about too. Feeling sad about this hard journey is completely normal and understanding, but it's almost over. Just a few exams, and you're done with high school

I've heard the exams have been very weird this year. How are you finding them in comparison to practice/past exams?

FinFin-3rdYearUni ive only had english so far which was a new study design so no real comparison for part B, the wuestions for my text in part A seemed fine but it was a pretty bland analysing argument piece imo, like there didnt feel like there was a much as there should be to analyse for an exam but idk

I see. Well, best of luck for the other exams. Fingers crossed they cover everything that you're revising for

FinFin-3rdYearUni well i don’t do biology but apparently that had content out of the scope of the study design (and as i am aware, the function of a golgi apparatus is not in the study design, let alone worth 3 marks).
the general maths exam 1 was quite easy in my opinion, only managed to get 3 questions incorrect (circled my answers in the question book and used maffsguru solutions), but a lot of people did struggle due to the tedious nature of questions.
