Hi guys!

I did units 3 + 4 biology this year and got a study score of 35. Is it still possible for me to get a 90+ ATAR if I do well in my other subjects? I’m aiming for a 95+ but I’m scared my 35 set me back 😭

I’m doing these subjects next year:

  • Literature
  • Language
  • HHD
  • General mathematics

Hey, what subject did you mean by language?

I'm sure at the minimum if you get 2 40+ study scores, you should be able to reach a 90+ study score based on my experience.
And if you're aiming for a 95+, I would suggest getting higher scores for HHD and General mathematics due to how they get scaled down.

35 is a decent score in biology although it is understandable it may be a disappointment if you were aiming higher.

A 90+ ATAR is definitely still possible if you do well in your year 12 subjects.

The aggregate needed for a 90 ATAR in 2023 was 156.5 If you got 35 in all 6 subjects you would have a total of 147 which is slightly below that.
If you get 2 39s, 1 38, 1 35 and 2 30's that is 157 and more than a 90 ATAR. However one of those non 30 scores must be an English. Also if you get higher scores you can compensate for lower scores in others.

    a month later

fruitpie I got a 38 in R&S in yr11 which scaled down and still got a 99+ atar. Anything is possible
