Hi, I am also doing the exam this yr for 2025 entry. I currently use strive for excellence jmss papers, can someone tell me if they are as hard as the actual exam?

Hi,
I'm a yr 9 student this year and am taking the test this year to get into john monash in 2025. I actually really want to get into the school since i know the teachers are much more dedicated than my current school, and i'm really really interested in the electives that JMSS offers as well as all the opportunities that a lot of schools can't offer.

I'm currently preparing for the test in june, but I'd REALLY like some advice on the interview, including the types of questions they ask (because i heard that they ask about recent science news but i'm not sure if it IS true), your passion in maths and science, and what they are looking for in a student.

The previous replies in this forum are really informative, but I'm a bit worried about the interview in particular and am mainly looking for advice on this!!
I hope someone will reply 🙂

IDON'TGIVEUP I wish i did, but since i've never took the test before, i don't have anything to share unfortunately 🙁

        Hi!

I am a year 9 student who has tried out for JMSS. I have a 87.25 percent average in Science with one B+ and the rest As and A+s. I also have 92 percent grade average. Do you think JMSS will be ok with that?

        Thank you

Sunnyy24 Probably not, what matters most would be the exam results you got from the JMSS test.

How many superiors do you need for an interview

JMSSaspirant I think it depends on your school and who tried out. But I've heard from my sister( she goes to JMSS) that her friend had no superiors like 5 above averages(one right before superior) but did Steller on the interview and got in.

what are they going to ask on the interview??

.. Do you think i could get an interview with an average in SR, and in math and NR superiors, and writings above and high average?

Guys can anyone remember any SR questions?

JMSSaspirant Make this chemical equation balanced:
              O2 + H2 -> H2O
              A) double oxygen molecules
              B) Double water molecules and double oxygen molecules
              C) Double water molecules and double Hydrogen molecules
              D) Double Hydrogen molecules
              Answer is C btw

broooo, look all i know is that apparently the maths test was pretty hard and theres literally like on in which u have to answer 60 questions in 30 mins, science was kinda free like my mates said, heres some more highly useful info:

The entrance exam at JMSS is considered more holistic than those of other selective schools, as it is only the first step in a multi-stage selection process. This approach ensures that students who are genuinely passionate about science and technology are given a chance to shine beyond their exam scores.
