Seeing as we have less than a month to the GAT I thought I'd make a space for people to ask questions/share previous experiences with the GAT.
So if anyone has any questions or wants to give tips/advice from the previous GAT they can come here.
(my main tip I think would be to not stress too much, I know it's easy to say but it genuinely just felt like naplan for big kids so like it's not something you need to heavily revise for, maybe just brush up on your writing skills but most people are regularly doing that anyways for English)

My advice is that it basically doesn't matter unless you miss one of your exams. It's not really a thing you can study for like just do your best and try to avoid being sick during exam szn

I think if you're concerned it's worth looking at past ones, especially the writing prompts just so you have an idea of what you're going to be asked to do but yeah it's not something you need to spend time studying for.
Plus with the prompts as long as you can make it make sense you can mention anything (I got a 45 for the writing component and I literally brought up my little pony in my essay lol)

i am dreading the day gen alpha’s do the gat because i have my money on them changing it to the ‘g(y)at’… heck the gatphrase is literally gyat this year…

Also if anyone is curious as to how the GAT writing tasks are marked I have that from last years because of my statement of marks:
Section A writing task:

audience and purpose (/6)
ideas (/6)
structure and cohesion (/6)
grammar (/10)
punctuation (/4)
vocabulary (/5)
spelling (/4)
Section B writing task:
marked as a whole out of 10

Not entirely sure on how they determine what the mark is in each part but I know some people would be curious to what they are specifically looking at and the part A stuff especially may be helpful
