year 9's pretty fun, to me orientation was like pretty important cause i met most of my current friends then. it's really fun and it's like bonding activities ig but it really helps you settle in a little haha
as for the subjects they're pretty good, like for languages we have french and chinese.
electives are pretty good. i did IT last semester (i love IT, IT ftw) and i do robotics now (not as good as IT but its okay)
there's also like food tech, drama, media, viscom, music, and art iirc. i personally didn't do these myself this year, but all my friends did, and from what i've heard it's pretty good lol. if you're interested in any specific lmk and ill give you a rundown : )

clubs are pretty good we've got like card club, weeb club, book club, creative chaos, bunch of sport clubs, ecocore, chess club, asian drama club, f1, stem, robotics, debate, poetry and a bunch more but these are just the top of my head.

there's also cocurricular which is like an active or creative thing every two weeks for a double. you do one sport and one creative a semester each. there's a bunch of sport options for active like i do archery, but there's like badminton downball tennis self defence yoga etc. creative has so many omg, the ones i can think of is like writing, video games, bytes and bots (if IT and robotics had a child),

you know what ill copy and paste it. that's all the list - some of them don't run if they don't have enough people lol. if you're interested in any specifically again lmk and im happy to explain : )

i think i pretty much covered most things in these posts, and like KingYen said, the environment and cohort is much more friendlier lol but apart from that i don't have much to say!

the school timetable is like fortnightly, there's week A and week B and it alternates each week (hence why you do cocurriculars and stuff fortnightly lol)

school starts at 8:50 technically but the first bell is 8:45, and then it ends at 3:10 lol
i love the bells because they implemented this new system where like every bell in the morning after recess and after lunch they play some songs. each year level picks them per term, year 9s are next term (i have SO MANY songs omg they better play them) although... i do think it's rigged bc sometimes they play like 70s songs. no way a student is listening to this unironically; are they letting the teachers pick them too or smth 😭😭

each period is like 55 minutes, but it's scheduled a bit weird. we start with two in the morning, then recess, then two more, then lunch, and then we have homegroup, which is sort of useless but it's like 10 minutes lol. it's done vertically, meaning like there's some year 9s, some 10s, some 11s and some 12s in each homegroup lol.

after homegroup we have this thing called mini period which is for like 27 minutes (don't ask why it's so specific, i don't know either..) and it's when we have the other stuff like assemblies (once every two weeks), singing (for like this event called chorals which is in houses and each house sings a song and its judged and stuff. its very fun), THRIVE (if health had a child but it was all about mental health and making connections and stuff - once a week), and also extended homegroup for like activities and stuff, house assemblies, and then finally study periods lol. you have two study's, one thrive, and then one of singing or assembly, and wednesday is usually flexible and it depends.

anyways i wrote a lot again i hope im not scaring you lol
uhh if you have any questions specifically on any of these things im happy to answer like fr i have nothign else to do (thats a lie i should study for exams but its okay) but yeah : )
