miko Not really, most people who try out are people who didn't make a Selective school or JMSS. And a lot of the people who are smart enough to make have the right judgement to focus on VCE instead of EBSS. Also, even if your smart enough to make it and do the test and make it. The switch up in schools and not fitting in can definitely affect you especially if you're accelerating because your switching school when your starting 3/4s.
