So 2023.

The year of it all, I guess I'm starting this late, I have French and bio hw due tomorrow but oh well, procrastination at it's finest.
I used to calculate how old I'd be in 2020 think 15 years old and go wow, I'll be partying and getting crazy like a teenager. Life didn't exactly go like that I just got more mature didn't become a party animal like every Hollywood movie portrayed high school to be. I'm not socially inept or anything, I have a bunch of 18th's to go to and heaps of friends, it's just year 12 isn't all glitz and glamour, it's real life and it kind of sucks. My dad keeps telling me it's the year of sacrifice, your sister went through it, and got a solid 96.85 ATAR which I cannot achieve. Like last year was a sh*tshow if I've seen one, but everyone thinks I was really composed, perfect and on top of it all until my study scores came out.

I'm also that friend. The one that everyone automatically thinks should be getting an above 90 ATAR, like A+'s Year 7-10, even through COVID, but last year I just burnt out and had no motivation. My SAC marks were great but I bombed my exams because I was just so tired of trying to juggle academics, leadership, a job and social life.

Let me tell you my study scores were appalling

When I let go of my job or changed subjects people were all over my case and it was so tiring to deal with so I'm just glad it was year 11 and that I've obliterated, destroyed and shattered everyone's expectations before year 12.

But I hoping this is the year! The year, that I can get the best study scores possible and just try my damn hardest! I still have leadership, a social life and academics to worry about, but I want this year to be about enjoying the up's and down's of my crazy year 12 rollercoaster ride not getting stressed and anxious about it. So that's why I'm gonna try journalling at least every month, just a reminder for me in the moment's that I'm bogged down that there's light at the end of the tunnel.
