Entry #11 - 27/04/2023

Well? It's the first entry of the term. I hope you all had a great break, other than that, things are looking quite rough. Today I had my Differential Calculus test for specialist maths, and only now have we started Differential Calculus in methods. In roughly two weeks is my English text reponse SAC. Next week, on Monday, is the due date for my Chemistry Poster (on Monday, the Further maths students have a day long SAC💀💀). On an unrelated note, my current DM said that I would have to DM at least once for a campaign, my social and communication skills are already bad enough😭. We also started Gravitational and Electromagnetic Fields in physics, and my teacher already handed us a ton of VCAA questions, so much paper, I'll tell you. My teachers have been warning me that this term is going to be a tough one, and term 3 will be tougher, I gotta get a move on!

Tasks

  • Watch 4F Edrolo for Chemistry

  • Do Chapter 4F exercises

  • Watch 5A & 5B for Physics

  • Do Chapter 5A & 5B exercises

  • High Ground scene analysis

Have an amazing day👍🏿

Greetings, apologies for the inconsistencies between entries, but man, it's already Week 4, that's what's so scary, time feels so quick! Other than that, I'll have to summarise shortly what occured during the short hiatus.

  • I did my English Text Response SAC.

  • I began reading The Lord of the Rings (Highly recommend).

  • We have started Logic and Proof in Specialist Maths.

Enough about the past, what about what happens next? This week, I have my Electrolysis SAC on Thursday, next week, I have a 4 period Spesh SAC (begins on Tuesday and finishes on Thursday), alongside my Physics SAC. How am I feeling? Uncertain, I feel underprepared, even though I have done enough. Recently, I have been applying some good habits such as: going to bed by 9pm, reading, time management. My parents keep telling me this: "my source of stress is from having no schedule", and I do agree, alongside the benefits of sleeping 8 hours, studying consistently will eleviate my stress. The take away? Studying consistently and doing my homework will definitely ease the sense of uncertainty within me. Well, I gotta get a move on!

Tasks

  • Revise Electrolytic Cells.

  • Revise Vectors and Complex numbers. Complete practice questions.

  • Complete Argument Analysis questions.

Have a good day 👍🏿

Entry #13 - 24/05/2023

Phew, it's really Week 5, and it seems that it is officially SAC season. Yesterday I had the first part of my Spesh SAC, surprisingly, it was actually not that difficult! Today I had my Physics SAC on Electricity, Magnetism and Gravity, which thankfully, I studied for it, and found it easy. Tomorrow is the final part of my Spesh SAC, I'm really looking forward to finishing it. Despite my excitement, my calendar is looking bleak. I will be have a SAC every week until the end of the term, and next week will be Methods (yet again, in 2 parts like Spesh, but it's methods, so I'll be fine). On an unrelated note, I'm doing something I know I shouldn't be doing, but I'm watching the LOTR films whilst reading the books, I finished the Fellowship of the Ring and have begun The Two Towers. But I'll finish the book and then continue with the films. Other than that, it seems that I'll have to hit the books.

Tasks

  • Revise Complex Numbers and Vectors.

  • Annotate Argument Analysis article.

  • Begin Methods revision.

Have a wonderful day👍🏿

Gosh, looks like the end of Semester 1 is right around the corner, and I do have to say, I have MANY regerts¹. One is definitely not taking Year 12 seriously, I know what I'm doing is wrong, I'm putting my study score (and ATAR) in jeopardy, and I still continue in self-destructive behaviour such as winging my SACs. But what has happened in the (more than) 3 weeks that I have not posted?

  • I did my Argument Analysis

  • Integrals test for Specialist Maths

  • Rates of Reaction and Equilibrium SAC for chemistry.

  • Oh, and we started (and finished) electricity.

Something to brighten the mood, I'll be in the University of Melbourne for a Chemistry excursion!! I have been anticipating this day since last term, but it's going to be my final excursion in school, while also being the first excursion I have ever been to since 2019, rough ain't it. I have received my scores for my chemistry and physics SAC, 81 for electrolysis and 87 for physics, surprisingly, I'm rank 2 in physics so that's great. Looking further, I'm going to get serious this holiday, and I am, this time not going to falter. I have two SACs next week, one on my Chemistry Unit 4 AOS3 poster outcome, and the other on Electricity. Well, I got some serious work to do this weekend.

  • Watch 8A, 8B, 8C on Edrolo Chemistry

  • Revise for Physics SAC

  • Work on my English oral presentation

Have a good day👍🏿

Well, I guess I'm finally entering the final stretch. Seriously, some retrospection and I can see that I was clearly lax with my attitude towards year 12. These holidays will not be wasted this time. This update will be pretty short, but I guess I'll summarise what occured this week, and what I'm going to be doing from now on. I had my Chemistry excursion on Monday, it was great, the Masson Theatre is nice, but damn the Chemistry Building is a labyrinth. In these holidays, I will attempt at self-studying the Unit 4 content, and start practice exams. It's nerve racking that the exams are coming close now, and there's only one way to alleviate this anxiety.

Have a good day, and a splendid holiday👍🏿

Well? It's been a while since my last entry, and I'm finally in part 3 of the final season (totally not a reference to AOT). I've been coming to terms with the fact that this is really my final term and that I have to get serious with studying. But, I've got to say, things are going pretty fine. I got an 84% for my unit 3 spesh SAC (making me rank 1!!). In English, we are working on TLM and TSOG, In Chemistry, we are doing organic analysis and in Physics we started light and waves. It's a good thing that I am now used to studying for more hours consistently which is a habit I have been working on since LAST YEAR, and attempting to fix my sleep schedule, which I should've fixed during the holidays. The following weeks are going to be tough, next week I have a Differential Equations test on Tuesday and on Thursday... Back to back SACs, A Chemistry SAC in the morning and a Methods SAC on periods 3 & 4💀, week 5 I will have my Specialist Maths SAC and Physics SAC. Ok, gotta get to studying😬.

Tasks

  • Revise for Chemistry SAC

  • Revise for Methods SAC

  • Do some preparations for DiffEqs Test

Have a good day👍🏿

Well, damn. That's it, I've finished my exams. It's been a few months since my last update but here I am, no longer worrying about a thing. And about how I'm doing now? Great, today was my physics exam and I found it easy, I think I probably aced it😄, alongside Specialist Maths and Maths Methods, I've done well in all of these subjects, I think I went pretty well in Chemistry. In all journeys, you reach the end of the road, and today, I have done exactly that. Despite the amount of time I have been left with, I'll have to learn to manage because I have plans, but in a month, I'll leave an update regarding my ATAR result and course entry, other than that, I will be away...

Have an awesome day, especially Class of '23👍🏿

Newbie
Chem exam was fine, however, it's quite embarrasing that VCAA has been making consistent mistakes in their exams (first question of section B). I thought it was going to be difficult, really, it wasn't as hard as I made it out to be.

Well? I guess it's time, and I'm pretty disappointed, not at my ATAR, but at my english study score.
Here goes🤷🏿‍♂️
Specialist Maths - 37 --> 49.52
Mathematical Methods - 41 --> 46.55
Physics - 37 --> 39.85
Chemistry - 34 --> 38.24
English - 23 --> 20.19
My ATAR is 91.80.
I'd also like some clarification about Study Score Consideration in UniMelb as I am eligible for it.
Have an amazing day👍🏿

    ABylat True, although I do care about english, still want to go to UniMelb so I have to do the Pearson Test of English Academic.

    Hey mate
    I'm really sorry to see that you're disappointed in your English study score, I know how crushing it is to get decent study scores, then have your English mark weigh you down. Your other 4 subject results are quite impressive, with all of them scaling to above 35.
    I graduated in 2020, and my English study score was 18. If you can get the Study Score Consideration, that would be wonderful, however, I also recommend seeing if any universities in your area have pathway programs, which is a semester of classes about university life and studying. It might seem a bit low-level, but it really helped me out. My ATAR was in the low 50s, and my highest study score was 27, but that didn't mean I didn't have a shot at university. If you want to take a gap year, I found that I benefited from a year away from studies, but it's up to you. Might be a good chance to work and get some money
    A low English study score is not the end. It's just a realisation which is easy to overcome. I went from bottom 3% in the state in English and History to scoring straight Bs in all my first year university classes, most being English and literacy-based.

    Don't give up, don't ever think that you aren't fit for university, because you'll never know unless you try to get there. Keep trying, and with how much effort you put into all your other classes, I know you'll achieve your long term goal
